The tour was amazing. Alessandra made it come alive. She was humorous, engaging and very knowledgeable!
Our tour guide, Aphrodite, was excellent! We learned so much and she made sure to keep us together and answered all our questions.
We did this tour with Barbara, a life-changing experience a friendly Roman, kind and extremely nice company, a very wise woman who told in a fun way about stories of all emperors and of all history, was perfect, simple so
Aphrodite provided great insight into all of the history surrounding the Colosseum and Roman forum. It was a memorable and educational experience… She was incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful guide! She was even thoughtful enough to provide us with several dinner recommendations nearby for authentic Roman meals.
This morning I had a tour booked with this company. As soon as I walked through the security check, my child fell ill. This was unexpected and not something I would have foreseen. After showing proof to the company ( as initially they were asking for this, ) they chose not to refund me for an experience I paid for and never received. The manager was extremely rude, did not want to hear or what the actual situation was and chose to provide poor customer service and turn me away. BEWARE before booking with them!
Dear customer, We are sorry that your child felt unwell during the tour. However, it is important to clarify the facts. You did not miss the tour because of an issue caused by our company. You arrived, met the guide, passed the Colosseum security check, and entered the monument with the group. The service had already started and was being delivered as booked. After entry, your child unfortunately felt unwell. While we understand this can happen unexpectedly, this is a personal circumstance and not a failure of the tour operator. In such cases, a full refund is not possible under the cancellation policy, especially after the entrance tickets have already been used and the service has already begun. Our team asked for information only to better understand the situation, but this does not mean that a refund was automatically guaranteed. We cannot accept the accusation that you were “turned away” from a service you never received, because the tour had already started and you had already entered the Colosseum. We also reject the claim that our manager was rude. During the phone call, our team explained the policy and the situation clearly, while also trying to manage the matter professionally. Disagreeing with a refund decision does not make the service poor or unfair. We always do our best to assist customers, but we must also apply the same rules fairly to all guests. For this reason, we cannot issue a full refund for a tour that was attended, entered, and started as scheduled. Kind regards, Rutas Romanas
We booked a Colosseum tour through Rufus Romania and paid in advance expecting full floor access. A few days before the tour we were informed that floor access was no longer available due to the operator. However, we later booked with another provider and were able to access the floor without any issues, which raises concerns about the accuracy of that explanation. Our tour time was also changed at short notice, which disrupted our plans. On the day, my wife was very unwell and we were only able to stay around 15 minutes, but the overall experience felt disorganised and not as described from the outset. We are very disappointed with the communication and service and would not book again based on our experience
Very entertaining and informative walking tour of the Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum. Our guide Alessandra was fun and knowledgeable.
We had Aphrodite as our guide, she was very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her The trip was 2.5 hours long and Rome was hotter than hell, she was very mindful of that, took breaks and was accommodating. I would definitely recommend Aphrodite for your tour guide
Our tour guide was Aphrodite. The tour was at the end of June 2026, temperatures around 37C. The tour was excellent, lots of historical information, she shared rendered images of what the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill looked like when they were in active use. Plenty of breaks to take pictures and refill water. For people who want to hear about a bit of history as theyre looking around these types of sites, this is the operator to go for.
Our tour was amazing, despite the scorching heat of the summer afternoon! The meeting point to start the tour is very clearly communicated and easy to locate. We were introduced to Henry, our guide for the tour and were given earbuds with an audio device to clearly hear him while he was describing the Colosseum’s rich history. Henry was awesome! It is obvious that he is very passionate about history, and he explained everything in a way that even our 9 year old child was fascinated by. We took a short break after going through the Colosseum before moving on to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Both my wife and I had done self guided tours of the Colosseum on previous trips to Rome, and this tour was 100% worth it. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!!
