- There are mandatory security checks al all entry points to the sites. The wait time time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line

I can’t remember our tour guides name but she was great. She was energetic and very knowledgeable. For those who love history I highly recommend this tour .. it would be worth the price. Given that it was July, it was miserably hot and dampened the tour. For our purposes/interests, we likely would have been better just walking and doing a self guided tour/seeing the colosseum.
It’s difficult with kids, especially in the heat of summer. The kids in our group were not misbehaving, but not interested and took away from others who are. Don’t drag your kids to something like this and hope they will like it - be absolutely sure they will appreciate it or you will take away the experience from yourselves and others.; or leave them behind.
Our tour guide was excellent and informative. There was an excessive heat warning and she tried to keep us in shade as much as possible.
We were really looking forward to this adventure but when our guide showed up 30 minutes late, it put a damper on our excitement. The whole check in process was disorganized and people were just standing around not being told what was going on. I would not recommend this tour. Do it on your own.
We booked the Colosseum Arena Floor, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill tour with Show Me Italy for our family. On the positive side, our tour guide was lovely, very friendly, engaging, and genuinely knowledgeable about the history. The fully guided portions through the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill were great. However, a few things left a bad taste in our mouth: - Unguided Colosseum Section: Shortly before the tour, we were notified that due to "new regulations," our guide wouldn't actually be coming inside the Colosseum with us. Instead, she gave us an overview outside, and we had to walk through the main attraction self-guided. This felt quite strange, especially as we saw plenty of other tour groups inside with their guides active throughout. - Unfulfilled Refund: To make up for not guiding us inside the Colosseum, the operator promised a 20% partial refund for that portion of the tour. It has now been nearly two weeks since our tour date, and despite following up directly with the operator to ask when to expect it (and why our guide wasn't permitted inside when others clearly were), they have completely ignored my messages. Overall, while the guide herself did a wonderful job with what she was permitted to do, the lack of communication from Show Me Italy and the unfulfilled refund promise make it hard to fully recommend them.
Excellent experience. We were a bit apprehensive when booking as we didn’t book through official colloseum site. Would definitely use again.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of interesting insight. We really enjoyed the experience other than the fact we didn’t get to go on the floor because of the coliseum not because of the guide. One thing I don’t recommend is coming in July! It is tooo freakin HOT!
We booked for gladiator door and arena - tickets got scanned and. Gave us there tickets which did not get us to either arena floor or gladiator door - very disappointed. Also told to be there 15 min early for tour to start at 9am didn’t start u til 9.40
The experience overall was nice. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to see some amazing buildings & architecture. The first drawback was the heat, which was not the fault of the tour guide, but it made the tour very difficult. A couple of the guests had to drop out because of it. The second drawback was the heavy accent of the tour guide which made it very difficult to understand everything he was saying. The third drawback was the fact that we were told about a week before that due to “government regulations” no tour guides were allowed in the coliseum, so we had to go in ourselves. When we entered the coliseum, there were tour guides everywhere so I’m not sure what Viator was talking about but they did say they would discount our tour by 20% which I’m still waiting to see on my CC. Overall it was a nice experience.
Fantastic tour especially of the Forum! The amount of history is astounding and our guide was superbly knowledgeable. 10/10 recommend. Only unfortunate thing was that our guide was not able to enter with us to the coluseum. We were still able to enter and explore it at our own pace though.
