Mario provided my wife and I with an amazing historical view of local wineries and the region. His deep knowledge on local wines along with a great personality this in our opinion is a definite when visiting Croatia!
We had a fabulous day with Mario going to 3 wineries before stopping for a lovely lunch and a visit to Ston. Mario is extremely knowledgeable and told us all about the wines and wine making, answering all our questions. The three wineries were each very interesting with lovely (and different) wines. We had a wonderful fish lunch (other options available) in a restaurant overlooking a beautiful bay. In fact most of the drive up the coast was beautiful. All in all an unforgettable day out, highly recommended!
Great variety of wineries, some teaching and a fabulous lunch! The tour was nicely paced. Be sure to bring water so you can enjoy each winery!
Mario is very knowledgeable! We learnt a lot and had a great time. Nice transportation in a smart air conned mini van which we appreciated. Visited areas that we wouldn’t have otherwise been to.
We had a fantastic time on this wine tour! It started with a 30m stop at Ston where we were let loose to explore and try out the trademark oysters. After that we stopped at 3 wineries and got to try wines from the famous Dingač valley too. And to top it off we enjoyed a yummy 3 course meal in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea. Mario was also super knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the wines and culture of Dubrovnik and Croatia. Highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a full day wine adventure with a great lunch!
Mario is an excellent, genial and knowledgeable host. We did the oyster and wine tour and learned a lot about both. Very much enjoyed the tour and the bottle of wine we bought from the wine grower, Tony.
A really good 5 hour tour. Mario was friendly and very knowledgeable and informative . He taught us a lot about wine and particularly wine pairing with food - one of the best wine guides I have had .
Great trip with good food, great wine, and with ”Super Mario” as our guide. We added the lunch by the sea and it was really fantastic.
It was a great day out. The wineries were in spectacular locations, and the wines were of excellent quality. Mario was very knowledgeable, which enhanced the experience. Lunch was great—we were invited to the kitchen to see our seafood lunch being cooked over a barbecue. If you like wine-tasting tours, then I can recommend this one.
We thoroughly enjoyed our all day wine tour with Mario. He collected us from our hotel and we departed Dubrovnik to begin the tour. Mario shared lots of interesting information on wine production in Croatia as well as tips on tasting wine and pairing the wines with food. Our first stop was a local Oyster farm where we sampled some delicious fresh oysters along with Croatian bubbles. We then visited three different wineries - we were able to sample wines at each of the stops along with some amazing local cheeses. The trip was topped off with an amazing three course lunch on a terrace overlooking the bay. Lots of fresh seafood to enjoy with more wine. On the way back we stopped off in Ston which is a lovely old city much smaller than Dubrovnik so very easy to explore in a short time. Would highly recommend this tour for those who enjoy sampling new wines - it was also a great opportunity to see more of Croatia outside Dubrovnik!
