Itinerary

60 min

Your journey into the cyberpunk metropolis begins at Liziba Monorail Station. Instead of a quick drive-by, we guide the group to the dedicated Viewing Platform for the best angle to capture Line 2 vanishing directly into a 19-story residential building. Witness this engineering marvel and learn how locals live in harmony with the train.

60 min

Next, explore the city’s authentic soul at Baixiangju Apartments(白象居) located in Baixiang Street(白象街). This legendary "vertical village," built in the 1990s without elevators, features a maze of skybridges connecting 24 floors. Navigate its corridors to experience the confusing reality of entering on the 1st floor and exiting on the 12th onto a different street. With cinematic views of the Yangtze River and cable cars, it’s a favorite filming location for movies like "Better Days" and a raw glimpse into local life. Note:Due to the high visitor flow in peak season, Baixiangju may be closed to visitors. If this happens, we will arrange a visit to E’ling erchang Cultural and Creative Park instead, which is also an iconic landmark of Chongqing. Please kindly be aware of this.

Admission included30 min

Then, confront the city’s verticality at the Crown Grand Escalator. As the second-longest escalator in Asia, it plunges 112 meters deep at a steep 30-degree angle. This isn't just a ride; it’s a vital public transport link. The dizzying descent into this Soviet-style tunnel offers a visceral reminder of how Chongqing’s terrain shapes daily life.

60 min

We challenge your spatial logic further at Kuixing tower square. Step into a bustling plaza where cars drive and people walk, only to look over the railing and realize you are suspended on the 22nd floor. It’s a mind-bending illustration of why 2D maps fail here.

Admission included30 min

In the afternoon, take to the skies on the Yangtze River Cableway. Known as the "Bus of the Air," this vintage cable car offers 360-degree views of the "Two Rivers" confluence and the dense Yuzhong peninsula.

60 min

On the South Bank, we slow down at Longmenhao Old Street, a restored cliffside district blending Western colonial and traditional Chinese architecture. Find the famous "Golden Frame" archway for a perfect photo of the modern skyline.

60 min

As twilight falls, ascend to the Chongqing World Trade Center 131 Sky Observation Deck (Sky Platform 131). Located on the 56th floor and rooftop, this 262-meter-high landmark offers a unique "cloud perspective." Walk on the thrilling open-air deck for a 360-degree unobstructed panorama of the Jiefangbei CBD and the spectacular confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers below.

60 min

Finally, walk across Qiansimen Bridge to witness the crown jewel: Hongya Cave. This massive stilt-house complex glows against the cliff, looking strikingly like the bathhouse from Spirited Away. The tour concludes here, leaving you free to explore the vibrant night market and spicy food stalls inside at your own pace.

Not recommended

I joined the Chongqing city tour today, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The day already started poorly. I was asked to be ready at my hotel at 7:40 a.m., but the driver only arrived at 8:00 a.m. Then I was told that the second guest would not be picked up until 8:45 a.m., even though the drive between our hotels was only about 10 minutes. As a result, I spent almost an hour waiting and sitting in the car before the tour had even properly started. A third participant never showed up. The biggest disappointment, however, was the guide. Her English skills were extremely limited, and she was unable to explain the sights or answer even basic questions. Throughout the entire day there was almost no interaction and virtually no information about Chongqing, its history, culture, or the places we visited. No matter what I asked, she could not provide an answer. I understand that not every guide can speak perfect English, but if an English-speaking tour is offered, the guide should at least be able to communicate and provide meaningful information. Whether the issue was a lack of English skills or insufficient knowledge, the result was the same: I learned almost nothing during the tour. Considering the price of 670 RMB (around CHF 80), I feel that the experience offered very poor value for money. Compared with many other tours I have taken, this was by far one of the weakest. I strongly recommend better training and qualification of guides to ensure that future guests receive the experience they are paying for.

Operator response

An unforgettable day exploring Chongqing's "8D" magic

This full-day tour was the highlight of our time in Chongqing. The city's wild, multi-level "8D" layout has to be seen to be believed, and having a small group made the whole day feel relaxed and personal rather than rushed. Our guide, Eunice, was fantastic. She was warm, genuinely passionate about her city, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and all the little details you'd never catch on your own. She knew exactly when to share a story and when to give us space to take it all in, and she navigated Chongqing's famously confusing layout effortlessly. She also went out of her way to make sure everyone in the group felt included and looked after. The pacing was excellent, the sights were stunning, and Eunice's recommendations made the experience even richer. If you're visiting Chongqing, do yourself a favor and book this tour. Ask for Eunice if you can. Highly recommended!

Chongqing city tour

We had an excellent experience on this Chongqing city tour. The itinerary was very well designed and covered all of the city’s iconic highlights, including Hongya Cave, Liziba Station, the Yangtze River Cableway, Longmenhao, Kuixinglou, and several fascinating viewpoints that truly showcase Chongqing’s unique “8D” urban landscape. What made the experience exceptional was our guide, Eunice. She was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly well organized throughout the day. Her English was excellent, and she provided interesting historical and cultural insights that helped us better understand Chongqing’s history, architecture, and local lifestyle. Eunice was also very attentive to the needs of the group, ensuring that everyone was comfortable, knew where to meet, and had enough time to enjoy each stop. She was happy to answer questions, offer local recommendations, and share personal insights about the city, which made the tour feel much more authentic and engaging. Chongqing can be an overwhelming city for first-time visitors due to its size, geography, and complexity, but Eunice made everything easy and enjoyable. Thanks to her guidance, we were able to appreciate both the famous landmarks and the unique character of the city. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chongqing, and especially recommend requesting Eunice as your guide if possible. She was a major reason why our experience was so memorable.

Chongquing tour with William

We had a great tour with William he explained everything well and answered all our questions. It was a fun and informative time in Chongquing. We are here for only two days and we saw so much and it’s totally worth it. He is friendly and my girlfriend was afraid of heights and when we were on the rooftop he played a song on his phone and helped her feel at ease and even took a video of us dancing. Down to earth tour guide, highly recommended!
