Itinerary
We'll start our food tour at the world-famous Tasty Dumpling where you'll sample their pan-fried Pork & Chive dumplings. While you eat, your tour guide will teach you a few tricks of the trade about how they make their signature dumplings taste so delicious.
On our way to the next food stop, we'll visit Mosco Street. This street may be small but it plays home to some unique Chinese street art and also offers one of the best vantage points to photograph the One World Trade Center.
Our food tour wouldn't be complete without visiting Mei Lai Wah. This nearly 60-year-old restaurant is famous for selling the best Char Siu Pork Buns in the city. An absolute crowd pleaser, they make some sweet, spicy, and succulent pork before they stuff it inside a steamed Chinese Bao bun. This place is one of those 'if you know you know' spots, and it's guaranteed to get your mouth watering.
Our next stop is at Doyer Street aka Murder Alley. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this street has a dark history and used to be the location where rival Chinese gangs would settle their differences back in the 1800s (don't worry though, the street is very safe now!)
Next, we’ll head to Spongies Cafe to try a Hong Kong-style sponge cake paired with a sample of their homemade sweet Thai tea. The light, airy cake and the refreshing tea make for the perfect combination—a unique and delicious treat you won’t want to miss!
As we leave Chinatown and cross over into Little Italy, we'll have an opportunity to stop at the 'Welcome to Little Italy' sign. This iconic spot offers the perfect location to take a quick picture in the heart of Little Italy with the Empire State Building in the background.
We’ll stop by Piemonte Ravioli, a family-owned pasta-making store that’s been a Little Italy staple for over 100 years. While we’re there, you’ll get to try their handmade potato gnocchi with a homemade marinara sauce.
Next, we'll take a quick stop outside of Mulberry Street Bar. This iconic spot may look familiar as it has been featured in popular mafia movies and shows including The Sopranos, Goodfellas, and The Irishmen.
We’ll stop by Mulberry Street to see the stunning mural of Audrey Hepburn, a striking piece of street art that captures her timeless elegance in the heart of Little Italy.
Our last stop will be Nolita Pizza, this popular pizza spot that offers some of the best New York-style pizza in the city. We'll try some of their delicious cheese pizza with a thin and crispy base, homemade tomato sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese.
Our final stop is Eileen’s Special Cheesecake, a beloved New York bakery that’s been serving its iconic desserts for over 50 years. Here, you’ll get to enjoy one of their famous cheesecakes or a classic Italian cannoli, the perfect sweet ending to the tour.

Meri is an incredible guide! She’s extremely knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time learning about the unique history of New York while having some delicious bites.
Enthusiastic, cheerful and knowledgeable guide! (Food was great too!) Fried dumplings, baked bun (instead of steamed), sponge cake, pizza, ravioli and cheesecake! A lot of really good food!
Daria was amazing! Loved her! Very personable. Loved the food, how the tour was set up .very neat experience
Rebecca was a great guide!! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Pace of the food was great but it is a LOT of food!! Everything was delicious and we went back to Tasty Dumpling the next day. My teenagers loved it as well and they were the ones that demanded to go back to Tasty Dumpling and Mei Lei Wah. Tbf there were no rats on the tour.
Hands down and amazing your! Emily was an Amazing Tourguide. She was very friendly, funny, and kind. Loved getting to try some places less know to tourists and had a fabulous time! Food was delicious.
Thanks so much for this. Emily loves taking folks to the places most tourists walk right past, so it's great the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour delivered that for you along with food you enjoyed. She'll be happy to hear she made the day so friendly and fun, and we hope to see you on another tour soon.
David was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history and food. We learned so much more about the neighborhoods we explored, than we ever would have on our own. I had my 16-year-old daughter with me and she enjoyed it too. I think what made it so great was David’s personality and how engaging he was from beginning to end. I would highly recommend if you are at all interested in history and you want to hit the best food spots but have no idea how to find them.
Thanks, Grace. David knows the history of these neighborhoods inside out and keeps it engaging for all ages, so it's great that both you and your daughter got into it. Tracking down the best food spots on your own is tough, which is exactly why the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour exists. We'd love to have you both back out with us again sometime.
It was my first time in NYC and I guess it’s known for its food… so naturally you book a food tour to try suss it out. LET ME TELL YOU! the fun we had on this tour is just out of this world. Alex (our tour guide) was vibrant, funny, knowledgeable and super easygoing. She was able to connect the history aspect in with the food scene making it incredibly interesting. Do your self a favor… just book the tour you won’t regret it.
Thanks for the write-up, and for trusting a food tour to introduce you to the city. Alex is great at weaving the history into the food scene so it all feels like one story rather than a list of stops, and it sounds like that clicked for you. For a first time in NYC, the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour is a pretty great place to start eating. Hope you'll come back and explore more with us down the road.
Wonderful walk. Excellent food
Great experience for family with 2 teenage boys to walk around, learn about NY and eat! Plenty of food and our tour guide, Daria, was great!
So glad the tour was a hit with the whole family, teenage boys included (not always an easy crowd to please). Daria has a great time taking groups through the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour, and it sounds like the walking, the history, and all the food landed just right. Hope you'll all come back for another one down the road.
Daria our guide was fantastic. Entertaining, knowledgeable & fun! We loved all the stops, yummy food! Highly recommend!!
Great to hear it was a must do, Clark. Daria brings a lot of fun to the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour, and it's nice that the stops and the food all came together for you. Hope to have you back on another tour before long.
