Itinerary

10 min

We'll start our food tour at the world-famous Tasty Dumpling where you'll sample their pan-fried Pork & Chive dumplings. While you eat, your tour guide will teach you a few tricks of the trade about how they make their signature dumplings taste so delicious.

10 min

On our way to the next food stop, we'll visit Mosco Street. This street may be small but it plays home to some unique Chinese street art and also offers one of the best vantage points to photograph the One World Trade Center.

10 min

Our food tour wouldn't be complete without visiting Mei Lai Wah. This nearly 60-year-old restaurant is famous for selling the best Char Siu Pork Buns in the city. An absolute crowd pleaser, they make some sweet, spicy, and succulent pork before they stuff it inside a steamed Chinese Bao bun. This place is one of those 'if you know you know' spots, and it's guaranteed to get your mouth watering.

10 min

Our next stop is at Doyer Street aka Murder Alley. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this street has a dark history and used to be the location where rival Chinese gangs would settle their differences back in the 1800s (don't worry though, the street is very safe now!)

15 min

Next, we’ll head to Spongies Cafe to try a Hong Kong-style sponge cake paired with a sample of their homemade sweet Thai tea. The light, airy cake and the refreshing tea make for the perfect combination—a unique and delicious treat you won’t want to miss!

10 min

As we leave Chinatown and cross over into Little Italy, we'll have an opportunity to stop at the 'Welcome to Little Italy' sign. This iconic spot offers the perfect location to take a quick picture in the heart of Little Italy with the Empire State Building in the background.

10 min

We’ll stop by Piemonte Ravioli, a family-owned pasta-making store that’s been a Little Italy staple for over 100 years. While we’re there, you’ll get to try their handmade potato gnocchi with a homemade marinara sauce.

5 min

Next, we'll take a quick stop outside of Mulberry Street Bar. This iconic spot may look familiar as it has been featured in popular mafia movies and shows including The Sopranos, Goodfellas, and The Irishmen.

5 min

We’ll stop by Mulberry Street to see the stunning mural of Audrey Hepburn, a striking piece of street art that captures her timeless elegance in the heart of Little Italy.

20 min

Our last stop will be Nolita Pizza, this popular pizza spot that offers some of the best New York-style pizza in the city. We'll try some of their delicious cheese pizza with a thin and crispy base, homemade tomato sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese.

15 min

Our final stop is Eileen’s Special Cheesecake, a beloved New York bakery that’s been serving its iconic desserts for over 50 years. Here, you’ll get to enjoy one of their famous cheesecakes or a classic Italian cannoli, the perfect sweet ending to the tour.

Excellent way to discover Chinatown and Little Italy!

Excellent and great portions to try. Will have substitute choices if you are vegetarian. Seth was fantastic and took his time in explaining the food, the history, and the area where we toured. We chose the 10:30 tour as our “lunch plans” for the day. Well worth the cost of the tour.

best time ever!!

we had the pleasure of having alex as our tour guide. she was amazing and it ended up just being our party during the tour which was super nice and we actually got to hear the history and have a more immersed experience. the food was all soooo yummy. had the best time! the cheesecake was by far the winner. definitely worth the money would 100% do it again. it was the perfect amount of time and walking for us and we ended up being in soho for more shopping after

Operator response

So glad to hear you had a great time with Alex, and we'd agree the cheesecake is one of our favorite spots on the tour as well. Come back again soon and do another tour with us :)

Enjoyable food tour!

Seth was personable and fun! He gave us insightful information. A great variety of foods was provided

Operator response

Thanks, Eunice. Seth has a good instinct for when to talk and when to let everyone just eat, and the variety is really the whole point of the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour. Hope you'll come back out with us on another one before long.

Too much walking for me.

Great tours guide, shexwas very informative and knowledgeable about the area. For me it was way too much walking and I bailed out halfway through to tour. I wish I had known before it was walking a lot of city blocks. The blocks are narrow and really crowded making it difficult to maneuver. Not their fault but mine for not asking before booking.

Operator response

Thanks for the rating, and for being upfront about the walking. You're right that the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour covers a good stretch of blocks, and those streets get narrow and crowded, so it's a fair thing to flag for anyone booking. Glad the stops you did make were worth the trip. Hope we'll see you out with us again sometime.

Emily was a fantastic...

Emily was a fantastic host! She provided history of the areas and was so prepared at every spot. All the food was fantastic and we got to explore Chinatown and Little Italy. I enjoyed that it was a smaller group so it was a bit more personal. I would definitely recommend this tour and Emily as a guide!

Operator response

Thanks, Alex. Emily puts a lot of prep into every stop, so it's nice to hear that came through along the way. We're glad the smaller group made the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour feel more personal, that's exactly how we like it. We'd love to have you back to eat through another neighborhood with us sometime.

Very fun and tasty, would recommend!

Alex was lovely, super nice and knowledgeable about the area! They also provided fans for the duration of the tour! And of course the food was amazing, we really liked the pork buns, and our guide was great about having things ready when we got there!

Operator response

Hey Liz, those pork buns are a favorite of ours too. Glad the fans came in handy on a warm day, Alex likes to come prepared, and having each stop ready to go is one of her specialties. Thanks for spending the day with us on the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour, we'd love to see you again sometime.
