Chennai Museum is one of the oldest and largest in India. We will be covering either Bronze or Stone Gallery. Bronze itself has 3 floors and Stone artefacts are huge.

This was definitely the highlight of my time in Chennai. Vijay, our guide, is exceptionally knowledgeable and brought the artefacts in the museum to life with detailed information about the history and related mythology. I would strongly recommend this tour.

Our curation was with Vijay and we had a great time. What we thought initially was ample time for a tour turned out to be way too little! He was very well read and we could tell that he brought in multiple sources to draw a story. We also liked the way Vijay adjusted what to say to us (i.e., explaining the story behind the statue/ iconography). He really explained the value of learning more about our culture and how these bronze statues shed light into the stories we’ve heard of.
