Very informative walking tour, that made learning into a fun family activity 😀 Learned as much as a paid tour guided tour
Thanks for the wonderful review! I'm thrilled that exploring Charleston became such a fun family activity for you all. Hearing that you learned just as much as you would on a traditional guided tour is the best compliment we could ask for! Hope you'll explore another city with us soon.
Darion is an engaging and animated storyteller. I loved her enthusiasm and timing and wit - she belongs on a stage! The stories were fantastic too - not too gruesome, full of history and wild characters. I’ve taken a few ghost tours here and she told my favorite story about Anna and Perry - perfection!
My teenage son and I really worked as a team and completed this! Great bonding/ family time. Only issue is the 8 1/2 is slave quarters. Anytime you see a 1/2 number in a home, that’s what it means. The app guide said they don’t know why 1/2 numbers were added to homes. Small brick homes near the main house were slaves quarters
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re really glad to hear the game created a fun, team-based bonding moment for you and your son. We also appreciate you pointing out the historical inaccuracy regarding the 8½ address and slave quarters. That context is important, and we’ll review and correct the content to better reflect Charleston’s history.
We ended up taking our tour at night and had a great time! Only thing we didn’t understand was the back story that would run after the clue- started kind of into the story already, then just stopped and there was no ending. But great little tidbits of knowledge- lots of fun.
Thank you for playing the Charleston Historic Downtown Exploration Game. Glad the night tour was fun and the local tidbits landed. Sorry the story flow was confusing; a trigger skipped the intro and ending on some devices. We’ve fixed it and added a clear closing screen. If anything ever feels off, message us in the app and we’ll sort it right away.
The story was blank for half of the stops. It also took forever to download the app and enter in the reference code as the link after purchasing did not work.
Thank you for your feedback, and I’m really sorry for the tech issues you encountered. We’ve fixed the story bug and are improving the app access process to make joining easier. We appreciate your patience and hope you’ll give it another try soon!
The tour itself was fine. I had a problem paying through Viator app, though. Once I had paid, I couldn’t use my reference number to join the tour. I ended up having to pay for the tour again online through the Questo app.
Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the issue with the Viator payment. That shouldn’t have happened. If you haven’t already, please reach out to us at care@questoapp.com with your Viator booking details—we'll make sure to refund the extra payment. Glad you still enjoyed the tour, and we hope to welcome you on another quest soon!
We enjoyed the flexibility of the walking tour and not being on a time table. The app we used was user friendly and very informative. Would highly recommend but please note-we went in June and it was super hot. And you will walk close to 3 miles.
Thanks for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed the flexibility and found the app helpful. And yes—summer heat and a 3-mile walk can be a combo! Appreciate the tip for future players.
We were not able to get the second person’s portion of the game to work. Then, after we did the initial stop (with me narrating to my partner 🙄), we couldn’t get the narrative to continue. Total waste of time and money.
Hey, James. Sorry to hear you couldn't play. The app works, so this was likely some issue with your device/internet. Please write us at explore@questoapp.com and we'll be happy to help you play another time or provide a refund.
We definitely saw places we would not have otherwise discovered like the alley with the artsy gates and the 81/2 house. I’m glad we did it. The story was okay, but didn’t add much to the experience. The GPS was helpful. The hardest thing about it was the content was difficult to read as it was small, dark colored font. It was a sunny day. If I could have enlarged the font or lightened it, it would have been more enjoyable.
Thanks so much for your review! We’re really glad the quest helped you discover hidden gems like the artsy alley and the 8½ house—those little surprises are what we love most. We appreciate the feedback about the font visibility and story—we’ll definitely look into improving that for a smoother experience. Hope to see you on another Questo adventure soon!
At first it wasn't clear as to what to do. But once I figured it out. It was a lot of fun. Thank you for the experience.❤️
I appreciate your feedback! It’s wonderful to hear that once things got rolling, you really enjoyed the experience. I’m glad it turned out to be an exciting adventure for you. Thanks for choosing us, and I hope your next quest is just as enjoyable!
