The Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion is one of the best known monuments in Budapest, located in the Buda Castle, in the 1st district of Budapest. It is one of the most important tourist attractions due to the unique panorama of Budapest from the Neo-Romanesque lookout terraces.
Buda Castle (Hungarian: Budavári Palota, German: Burgpalast) is the historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian kings in Budapest. It was first completed in 1265, but the massive Baroque palace today occupying most of the site was built between 1749 and 1769.
The Church of the Assumption of the Buda Castle (Hungarian: Nagyboldogasszony-templom), more commonly known as the Matthias Church (Hungarian: Mátyás-templom), more rarely the Coronation Church of Buda, is a Roman Catholic church located in the Holy Trinity Square, Budapest, Hungary, in front of the Fisherman's Bastion at the heart of Buda's Castle District.
The Budapest Castle Hill Funicular or Budavári Sikló is a funicular railway in the city of Budapest, in Hungary. It links the Adam Clark Square and the Széchenyi Chain Bridge at river level to Buda Castle above.
Located near Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, the Holy Trinity Statue can be found in the middle of Trinity Square. The column commemorates the people of Buda who died from two outbreaks of the Black Plague.
The Sándor Palace (Hungarian: Sándor-palota) is a palace in Budapest, Hungary. Located beside the Buda Castle complex in the ancient Castle District, it has served as the official residence and workspace of the President of Hungary since 2003.

Zoltan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city, and gave us some valuable insights about the city and its history. We enjoyed seeing all of the historical buildings and learning more about them. We also learned a lot about the people, their history and life in Budapest today. Highly recommend this tour. The tour length was perfect for what we wanted to see.
Karoly was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. We wanted to see a few sites that were not on the original agenda. He was completely accommodating. He also suggested we might be interested in some Roman ruins. Hadn’t run across that in any of the on-line things to do. Plus to get here we got to take trams and the metro as an added plus. All in all a great day and a great guide!
Our guide Ferenc was fantastic! Lots of historical, cultural and current information. He was very accommodating and kind for someone with some mobility issues.
It was a wonderful time. We learned and laughed a lot. We would highly recommend this tour if you want to learn a lot about the history.
This by far was the best tour we booked! I was expecting the generic touristy type of tour but Ferenc made the tour so special. From his deep historical knowledge to incorporating it into how it shaped their culture and even political views today! My husband and I heavily recommend this tour to anyone. And the coffee and cake location was on the tourist trail, but it was definitely charming and authentic. If you book this tour, I recommend asking for Ferenc. Honestly just the highlight of our vacation!
Not sure if others cancelled but my husband & I had our guide all to ourselves! We saw all the key locations on castle hill and our guide explained everything to a T. It was a long time ago (May 2018) and I can’t remember our guide’s name. But she was outstanding. It was a great introduction to Budapest and a great pre-cruise day!
Our guide was very professional and accommodating of our time and he understood about colder weather
Adam was a great tour guide! Tailored our tour to meet with our interests. Very friendly and great English skills!
Karoly was wonderful. He was very informative and polite. His knowledge of the Castle District and the history of the buildings and Matthias Church was very impressive. We would highly recommend this tour!
We had an excellent tour with Ferenc. In addition to showing us the sights in the castle district, his knowledge of Hungarian history and the background he provided on the area enhanced our overall experience. We highly recommend this tour.
