Mauricio is an excellent guide. A great connoisseur of the Carara National Park, as we were able to verify, along with exceptional hearing and vision that enrich the tour.
This was a wonderful experience. Kalany was a wonderful guide. Learned a lot about the indigenous people of Costa Rica, the trees, animals, reptiles, and birds of carara! It was truly a wonderful experience! And we had the pleasure of seeing a ton of spider monkeys!
A lot seen and very nice explanation from the guide. A beautiful park in which you could admire the flora and fauna at your leisure; from frog to porcupine and toucan to salamanders and butterfly to monkeys!
Mauricio picked us up and drove us to the park. He asked if we wanted to stop for anything-breakfast, coffee…bought us waters & took good care. When we got to the park, his son, Kalany took us on the tour. Kalany was so pleasant & knowledgeable. He was able to spot birds & monkeys we didn’t see until he pointed them out. Highly recommend. Wear comfortable shoes, bring bug spray & water.
Thanks so much for your support we really appreciate
Kalany was very knowledgeable and knew some great spots for spotting all the things we wanted to see. He is very passionate and it shows. Recommend!
By chance a young man named Kalany was waiting at the gate of Carara National Park to offer his services to us as a guide. Here is the funny thing, this was our last day in Costa Rica (our 8th) and we hadn’t booked a guide the whole trip… feeling that we didn’t need to. Boy was I wrong. Something about the young man made my wife want to say yes, so we did. From the moment we set foot on our journey he showed the most impressive love of what he did. More than once my wife and I privately whispered to each other, “we lucked into the best guide!”. Kalany was so patient spending time spotting the most wonderful wildlife and creating opportunities. He is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna… also speaking often about native people and their traditions in regards to the things he showed us. Towards the end of the adventure I expressed my deep desire to see macaws and he went out of the way to overwhelm me with just what I asked. I got to see my favorite bird, multiple, up close! It was my favorite moment in all my time in this beautiful country. I’m so impressed with the fella and what he provides! “I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees.”
Recently went on a private tour with Mauricio and it was FABULOUS! From pickup at our hotel, I knew we were in good hands with him. The van was clean and a/c was cold, and he had ice cold waters for us as well. I felt like a VIP on this tour; the amount of wildlife he spotted was incredible, and him having binoculars and a telescope was incredibly helpful! I would not hesitate to contact him again for another tour on our future trips! 10/10 recommend this tour!
Thank you Clara I'm glad to hear you have a great time hopefully we will get to see you soon. Best regards.
Mauricio was an AMAZING guide and an incredible animal whisperer. He picked us up at our hotel and was as friendly as we could have hoped. Once we got to the park and started walking, his spidey senses turned on and within a few minutes started spotting all kinds of animals in the trees. I have no idea how we saw what he saw. But, we saw and photographed well over 25 different bird species, poison frogs, spiders, and monkeys. He was a true profressional throughout, explaining things as we went. He brought a very high powered scope as well which made our sightseeing even more enjoyable. We were even able to take amazing up close iphone photos through the scope. We would definitely recommend Mauricio and this trip.
Beautiful wildlife and plants, educational and relaxing. Antonio is a personals le and knowledgeable guide.
My girlfriend and I were fortunate to go on a guided tour with Mauricio’s son and were very impressed with his knowledge and friendly tour. He helped us spot Graceful trogons, gray headed tanagers, rufous tailed jacamars, turqoise browed motmots, orange collared manakins, crane hawk, crested guans, white whiskered puffbirds, yellow throated toucans, pale billed woodpecker and a few different antbirds. We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend booking with JungleExpeditions
