A fantastic day out in Alexandria. Muhammed are guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Highlight of the tour were the Catacombs, Citadel and an excellent lunch in a restaurant over the sea admiring the view of the coastline. It is a long day but its really interesting seeing another aspect of egyptian history.
Great tour of Alexandria. Our tour guide Mohamed was great and explained everything well. It’s a great way to get a lot done in the most efficient way possible. Just keep in mind library is closed Friday/Saturday.
Pick up (private car) was good and smooth and the guide (walid) was good and friendly. selection of sights was good. Lunch was average but not great for US$15 per person (the greek fish restaurant). However, the agency is not great: 1. when asked if we could have a slightly later pickup time (as the hotel breakfast only opened at 7, which was also the pickup time), they said no. But the driver was late for 15 minutes anyway. 2. they charged a US$15 supplement for pickup outside of central cairo (which is very dubious and seems like a money grab, given that we stayed near al nasr city which is quite near and arguably less congested than central cairo). the guide forgot to collect the supplement at the end of the tour, and despite saying that we would pay online (through a link that the agency itself provided) after the tour, the tour agency spammed >5 missed calls and kept trying to get the driver to collect the money from us throughout the trip back to cairo. Bear in mind we had already paid for the cost of the tour in full (which was not cheap) at this point - they were effectively hounding a customer for US$15. Not a good look.
We visited Alexandria as part of our 7 day trip to Egypt. Our tour guide was Mr. Yasser. He is very knowledgeable and pationate guide. He is nice and professional at his job. We enjoyed our day with Mr. Yasser. Alexandria has a lot to offer. Unfortunately some of the sites are destroyed or under water but we still were able to enjoy very much the tour. We recommend this tour and our guide Mr. Yasser.
Thanks to Rania and Fayez I enjoyed an amazing day in Alexandria ! A place I strongly recommend to go to for discovering the non-pharonic history of Egypt. Big thanks to Rania for her very clear and precise presentation of the city and of egyptian history. Very tasty food closed the day before an improvised private lesson of arabic with Fayez on the way back to Cairo. Thank you both !
