Itinerary
This traditional market is the perfect starting place for a night out. Enjoy popular Busan-style noodles and street foods with beer.
It was started by refugees fleeing the Korean War, who were selling smuggled and imported goods. Today it's one of Korea's largest markets.
The original location of the Busan International Film Festival continues to fascinate with its indie glamor.
Explore the new and old market. It's a vibrant market for locals and fishermen. We will join them and dine on fresh seafood at places tourists don't know about.
Walk the bridge to the oldest part of Busan. The nightlife buzzes here with pojangmacha soju tents right up against docked boats. Enjoy local delicacies like mackerel "galbi," beef short ribs, and more, washed down with copious amounts of beer and soju.

Chris is an amazing tour guide and a really interesting guy to spend time with. Would most definitely recommend Chris and the tour itself. We went to the most fascinating small local restaurants and the soju was flowing freely! A definite highlight of our time in Busan. If you visit this really interesting city take this tour- you will love it !
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted Chris helped make your time in Busan so memorable. One of our goals is to introduce guests to the kinds of neighborhood restaurants and drinking spots that are easy to miss on your own, so we're glad those stops stood out. We'll be sure to pass your compliments along to Chris. We appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again the next time you're in Korea!
Amazing tour. Conor was a fantastic guide and made navigating the markets and Sonu tents a breeze. We saw and ate at places we would have never found on our own. We would highly recommend.
Great to hear Conor opened up Busan’s backstreets for you. The mix of market bites and those little soju tents is the kind of night you don’t stumble into on your own. Thanks for recommending the crawl.
This was an amazing food tour, if you want to see all the best kept secrets of Busan’s food scene. Our tour guide Chris was awesome! The entire night did not even feel like a tour, but more like just hanging out with a good friend, who knew all the great spots. If you book this tour, you will absolutely love it!

Thanks for the review! Looks like your Busan food crawl was an unforgettable adventure—who wouldn’t love amazing food and a guide who knows all the secret spots? From fish markets to soju tents, sounds like you hit the perfect balance of local flavor and fun. For anyone reading this, if you’re not booking this tour, you’re definitely missing out on some of the best bites Busan has to offer. Come for the food, stay for the experience!
What a great night! We had the best time with Chris — he was both extremely knowledgeable about Korean history, about the local area and about Korean food! As we walked throughout the area stopping at various locations, he popped us into several shoju tent “restaurants” and introduced us to foods that we had never had before (and probably wouldn’t have tried on our own) — all super yummy. He also took us to spots that we never would have found on our own and those places were absolutely the highlight of the evening. It was super fun to see Chris (a Caucasian guy) speaking Korean with all of the restaurant owners and to watch them interact with him. Altogether, this was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it.
Thanks for the awesome review! Sounds like you had a blast with **Chris** on the **Busan Food Crawl**. From hidden soju tents to foods you’d never have thought to try on your own, it sounds like it was a night full of surprises. And yeah, watching **Chris** work his Korean skills in those local spots is always a highlight! Glad to hear it was such a fun and memorable evening. If you ever find yourself back in **Busan**, there’s always more delicious food and hidden gems to explore!
Chris was a great tour guide. He grew up in the US but has lived in Busan for the past 20 years so he knows the city and the locals very well. Since we had already been to the fish market he adjusted our plans so we visited a wonderful off-the-beaten-track restaurant with only 4 tables and only served seared grilled Mackerel which was wonderful. Then we visited several tent districts and experienced the local “Aunties” cooking up an amazing variety of dishes for us along with plenty of Soju and beer. Because our last planned stop was extremely crowded due to the holiday Chris again adjusted plans and we ended the evening at a bar for a final round of Soju and beer. Overall Chris was an amazing host and provided us with a memorable evening in Busan that we will always remember.
Thanks for the awesome review! Sounds like **Chris** really made your **Busan Food Crawl** unforgettable, adjusting the itinerary to give you a truly local experience. From the hidden gem restaurant to the "Aunties" and all the Soju, it’s exactly the kind of night that shows you what Busan is all about. We’re so glad you had a great time and made lasting memories. If you ever find yourself in Busan again, we’d love to show you even more delicious spots!
This is a great way to experience Busan through food and drink. Our guide took us to places we never would have found or tried on our own and getting to socialize with the locals in the Soju tents was so much fun! Come hungry and thirsty (and drink lots of water) because your glasses will NOT go empty. Highly recommend this tour as it was one of the highlights of our trip. Note: May not be suitable for young children.
"May not be suitable for young children." <-- We're going to use that in our marketing. Thanks!
Tasty, informative, generous, practical, funny, the list goes on. A great night out. So many tips for the rest of my time in Busan. Highly recommended
This was a great tour! Well worth the money. My guide, Chris, was super informative as we walked through the market, BIFF square and Nampo-gu, giving me interesting culture and history tidbits. All the food was delicious (especially the grilled fish!) and Chris was accommodating about menu preferences and any food likes and dislikes. I really enjoyed going to the pochas (tents) and making friends with other patrons. It made for a great night! I would recommend this to anyone visiting Busan!
What a night! Sounds like Chris delivered an authentic and lively taste of Busan, complete with history, culture, and plenty of delicious bites along the way. The pocha experience, where locals and travelers mingle, truly adds something special! We're glad you enjoyed the grilled fish and had a memorable evening in Busan’s bustling spots. Thanks for the recommendation, and here’s to more nights of good food and new friends! 🐟🍶
