Bird is the word and also the name of the captain. Like most Jamaicans, kind and fun to talk with. Bird prioritizes safety, and I always felt safe on board or when snorkeling off Booby Cay. I went solo, and we had to wait for a few people who showed up late. Bird was nice enough to wait for them, but it cut into the time we spent on the water. If you want the boat for 3 or more hours, ask Bird, and he will accommodate you (if he doesn't have several tours booked for the day). Booby Cay is fun. Wear sport sandals so you can tour the island. Also bring some cash and you can get a cocktail at an outdoor bar or buy some fresh, grilled fish. Note that lobster season in Jamaica is kaput from the end of March until about July 1 to let the species breed and grow. Bird offers a safe and fun trio of island tour, snorkeling, and beachside cruise of 7 Mile Beach. Highly recommended.
It was me and my husband first time in Jamaica so we decided to go snorkeling and I can say it was fun
Lovely from the start the driver 👌on the boat they helped me on and off boat friendly funny and such nice people
Fantastic trip to booby, staff excellent, food great, swam with turtles, snorkelled the reefs, coral, historical anchor,& cannon, a must experience also captain alfred made the day. Don’t forget scooby.
If you’re looking for a legendary experience in Negril you have to find Bird. He took us out on the glass bottom boat and it was easily the highlight of the trip. The service was top notch and the man is just a genuinely great guy. 10/10 would recommend.
