Our forest, project that started back in 2000, reforesting cattle farms, in the seek for forest recovering in la Fortuna, has become home for a great local flora and fauna variety throughout the years, very important for their preservation. It is also a great place for birdwatching. Throughout the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife, including toucans, basilisks, and other exotic creatures. Your guide will share interesting facts about the animals and plants you encounter, giving you a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty of the area. The enjoy and respect of our mother nature help us have an authentic experience in the forest.

Itinerary
Starting the hike from Bogarin Trail's front desk to experience the lush rainforest of La Fortuna area and learn about the local flora and fauna from an experienced guide. Your guide will take you inside our magical trail, and will start explaining and showing the flora and fauna that resides in our forest, such as sloths, toucans, basiliscs, agoutis, owls and much more with a telescope they will point out the wildlife and help you take the best pictures and videos with your phone for your memories. A very easy and relaxing hike will end with a delicious and refreshing fruit for you to enjoy and delight our local pineapple. And you can rest on our rocking chairs enjoying birds and surrounding natural sounds.

Our Bogarin Trail tour was absolutely exceptional from start to finish, and our guide Angie made the experience truly unforgettable. Angie was incredibly knowledgeable and had an impressive talent for spotting wildlife—sloths hidden high in the trees, colorful frogs, fascinating leaf-cutter ant trails, and a wide variety of birds and plants that we would have completely missed without her trained eye. She was patient, engaging, and more than happy to answer every question along the way, sharing deep insight into the ecosystem in a way that was easy to understand and fun to learn. She also went out of her way to make sure everyone had the best possible experience—helping with photos, positioning us for great views, and making the entire walk feel relaxed and unhurried. The tour genuinely felt like a private VIP experience rather than a group outing. A standout moment was when the owner joined us and demonstrated his skill with bird calls—calling in some incredible-looking birds right into view, which added an unexpected and unforgettable highlight to the tour. Overall, it was one of the most memorable experiences of our time in La Fortuna, made even better by Angie’s expertise and the passion of the team.
Jackson was super knowledgeable and showed us tons of animals. We caught sloths, an owl, several lizards, poison dart frogs, and more.
We got to see several sloths and spotted a few other wildlife. The tour was worthwhile if you have never seen a sloth before. The guide was informative and helpful to take pictures and the trail was beautifully lush and easy to walk. We found it little pricey for the experience.

Very disappointed by this experience. This is the second national park we are visiting in Costa Rica, and the difference from our first visit is striking. We fully understand that it is never possible to guarantee the observation of wild animals. However, when one books a guided tour, one expects the guide to do everything possible to spot, search for, and share their expertise. Unfortunately, this is not at all what we felt here. Throughout the tour, we felt that everything was done in haste. The guide moved quickly, without really taking the time to observe, search for, or show us the wildlife present at the site. In the end, we mainly looked at plants and vegetation, without seeing the species that are, after all, the hallmark of the place. The most frustrating part is that in this type of activity, the guide makes up a large part of the experience. A park can be beautiful and filled with animals, but if the guide is not engaged, the experience loses all its interest. We even felt that the guide was unable to spot the animals herself and that everything relied more on luck than on her expertise. When one pays around €50 per person for a guided tour, one expects to be accompanied by someone who is passionate, invested, curious, and determined to provide the best possible experience. Unfortunately, we never felt that commitment. Given the excellent reviews we had read, we were expecting one of the highlights of our stay. On the contrary, we leave with a feeling of frustration and the impression of having paid a high price for a service that did not meet expectations. The park certainly has potential, but the quality of the experience depends heavily on the guide, and in our case, that is precisely what spoiled the visit.

We had the pleasure of touring with Alejandro, and he was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the local wildlife was incredible, but what stood out was how deeply he cares about the animals and their environment. You can feel his passion in the way he explains each species, points out details you’d never notice on your own while being careful not to disturb them, and encourages you to slow down and be present in the moment. Alejandro went out of his way to search for different wildlife so we could experience as much as possible. He offered to take photos throughout the tour and later shared them with us, which was such a thoughtful touch and gave us beautiful memories to take home.

Tour with Yari was fantastic, luckily we were the only group for that time slot, our guide was fairly knowledgeable, 2 hrs passed by like a breeze, highly recommended, we could also see other wildlife there
