Excellent birding experience in Walvis Bay

Excellen Birding experience. Even though Kobus could not do it himself, Arno was the guide for this day. Very good knowledge of birds and the area. Had some very good sightings. The tour was full day with ample coffee and food breaks.

Thank You very much for your feedback

Dune Larks

Very knowledgeable guide on birds and local history. Endemic Dune Lark highlight. Nice picnic at the point with 100’s of seals and Cape Cormorants. Middle back seat a little tight with 4 birders.

Operator response

A magical day's birding in Walvis Bay

We had an absolutely fantastic day's birding in the Walvis Bay Area. Kobus is a very engaging and knowledgable guide. In addition to showing us all the birds that the area had to offer, he also gave us a brief history of the country, which was fascinating. We visited several different sites and were lucky enough to have excellent views of Namibia's only true endemic, the Dune Lark. We had a memorable picnic lunch on the beach, surrounded by seals, sanderlings and cormorants - it was a truly magical experience. In total we saw over 80 species of birds (of which 38 were lifers for us), as well as other wildlife, such as jackal, steenbok and gecko. A fantastic day out that we will never forget.

Thank you very much for the kind words

The best birdwatching experience around Walvis Bay

We had one of the most amazing days out birdwatching we have ever had. Kobus is a brilliant guide/character. We saw over 80 bird species and a lot of wildlife as well. The picnic lunch on the beach was superb. The giant flocks of Pelicans, Flamingoes, Sanderlings and Curlew Sandpipers were staggering. 10 Dune larks is a fantastic way to start the day.

Rolling Hills Birding Tours a must for Walvis Bay Namibia

Excellent birding with Kobus at Pinnacle Point and Bird Paradise. Managed two lifers! Red-necked Phalarope and Black Tern. Do not waste time birding solo! He has a tremendous knowledge of identifying waders. Also very insightful info about Walvis Bay and Namibia.
