We offer 3 flexible packages for you to choose from based on your preferences: Economy (Guide-Only) Guide + Private Vehicle Premium (Guide + Vehicle + Dinner). Our professional guide will pick you up at your downtown Beijing hotel, then head to the first stop of the day—Tian’anmen Square. Important note: If you wish to watch the flag-lowering ceremony, passport number, full name, age and nationality of each guest are required for advance reservation. During peak seasons, security checks for entering the square can take as long as 1–3 hours. In such cases, we recommend either taking our private vehicle to tour around the square or listening to the guide’s detailed historical commentary on the square’s stories while waiting.
Next, we move on to Qianmen Old Street and its surrounding areas, a highlight combining shopping, history and food. The street is lined with time-honored brands and traditional shops, including renowned silk stores like Ruifuxiang, tea houses such as Zhang Yiyuan, and more. It’s a perfect place to shop for authentic Beijing souvenirs and experience the charm of century-old commerce. You can also wander through nearby historic hutongs like Damaochang, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty. These narrow lanes preserve the authentic style of old Beijing, with the guide sharing stories of their past as a hub for craftsmen, bankers and literati—witnessing centuries of urban changes. Then, dive into Beijing’s street food scene! Famous for exotic treats like fried scorpions and silkworm pupae, the street also offers classic local snacks(at your own cost).
Following the Qianmen tour, we proceed to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, affectionately known as "the Giant Egg". This iconic building boasts a striking egg-shaped glass and titanium shell, an architectural marvel blending modern design with the surrounding waterscape. As night falls, the building lights up, casting a shimmering glow on the lake—creating a picture-perfect photo opportunity.
The final stop is Wangfujing Street, Beijing’s renowned pedestrian boulevard. Neon lights, bustling shops and diverse snack stalls come alive after dark, offering a taste of the city’s vibrant modern nightlife. At the end of the tour, return arrangements vary by package: For the Economy Package, the guide will assist with hailing a taxi (fare at your own expense); For the Guide + Vehicle Package, our private car will send you back to your downtown hotel. For the Premium Package, the guide will recommend local dining spots tailored to your taste—options include Peking duck, hot pot, Sichuan cuisine or home-style dishes, decided by mutual discussion with the guide.

- During peak seasons, Tiananmen Square implements extremely strict security checks. Wait times for these checks can stretch from 1 to 3 hours. For night visits in particular, long queues are very common. To avoid delays to your subsequent itinerary, we recommend opting for a private vehicle tour of the area.

Qianmen Square sits at the south end of Tiananmen Square and blends traditional Beijing charm with modern commercial life. The restored Qianmen Street is lined with old-style architecture, giving a nostalgic feeling of Republican-era Beijing. Famous brands, local shops, and classic restaurants make it a great area for strolling and tasting traditional snacks like roast duck or Beijing yogurt. The pedestrian street is lively and often filled with performances and tourists. It’s also one of the best places to experience Beijing’s mix of heritage and contemporary culture. Visiting Qianmen offers a warm, atmospheric look at the city’s evolving history.
This is a great way to see Beijing at night. The guide was informative and took is to some Awesome places this is a must do. I must give a great round of kudos to my guide (Lucy). She was very knowledgable of the city and the places we were traveling.
We had a really great time exploring the landmarks of Beijing with our amazing guide Anson who was so kind to wait for us even though we were more than 30 minutes late to the tour due to heavy traffic. Anson showed us some popular as well as local places we have enjoyed a lot 😊 Many thanks for showing us that beer brewery, we had so much fun 😁
The two main street locations on this tour were too touristy and pretty much a waste of time. The square was nice and beautiful at night and my tour guide was ok and all, but he really didn't offer much conversation about the area or history. It basically just felt like he was there to walk around with and that was it. My other tour guides were much much better.
Better read the fine print. Beijing Unique Tours has a 7 day cancellation policy! If you dont give them 7 days notice they keep your fee. Our party of 6 got our flights canceled on the day of departure, making us arrive after the tour. I contacted Unique Beijing Tours and asked to reschedule. They said sure, as long as we paid a fee of $62 USD. They are very polite but would not even consider anything less. The money was too important to them. Compare that to the private transfer we'd arranged to pick us up from the airport, who willingly agreed to move our service back 24 hours for free (See my review as the transfer company is excellent). I admit I was stupid not to notice the 7 day cancellation policy. But you now have been warned. These are not the type of folks you want to deal with, and not at all representative of the wonderful Chinese people we came in contact with on our trip.

I booked the "Beijing Private Night Walking Tour: Qianmen Street, Tian'ammen Square and Wangfujing Street" and I must give a great round of kudos to our guide (Cactus). Even from before we got started we communicated with her to agree on where we would meet (since our hotel had more than one building, so there were more than one "lobby" and she was very accommodating on finding out which one we were on and still made it on time for our pickup. She was very knowledgable of the city and the places we were traveling to and even though it was a very cold night (I could notice she was feeling the cold) she never complained once even though I stopped to get photos on multiple occasions. We had a lot of fun trying the quirky food on the snack street and since we wanted to try the roasted duck she took us to a great place where I assumed she called ahead because there was a line of people waiting for a table we got to skip and enjoy some delicious duck, along with the explanation on how to eat it; and at the end of the night she hailed a cab for us and gave instructions to the driver so he would take us straight to our hotel building. All in all, it was a great trip and if we ever go back to Beijing we'll probably try to schedule something else with this company (and hopefully with Cactus since she was such a great guide).
<p>We were staying in Wangfujing Street, so therefore if I knew how easy it was to get to Tianammen Square, we probably would of miss this tour. Although we are intrepid travellers who like to work things out, so if you could not be brothered do the tour. The tour goes through the most amazing food on the planet, we ate pigeon, although the scorpions, grubs and whatever those other things were did not appeal to me to eat. It was pouring rain which did not help, although it was still pleasant walking in the warm rain. We did visit interesting shops at the end of the tour as well. Our guide was really good making sure she caught the bus with us and made sure we knew how to get back to our hotel, very caring girl indeed. <br/> Viator tours are always spot on anywhere in the world, I just love this company and have great faith in what they put together tour wise.</p>
<p>This tour was amazing! Becky helped schedule us just right to see the retiring of the flag in Tian'anmen square. She was sensitive to our group needs and when some of our older group members struggled with the walking, she helped us travel back via bus rather than on foot. She was knowledgable, prompt, clear, and guided us in perfect English. She answered student questions respectfully, and seeing this part of the city was so fun. I'm not all for the new shops at Qianmen, but it was a delightful place to visit at the south gate of the square. Ending at Wangfujing was a delight.</p>
