Itinerary
More than just a meeting point, Plaça Catalunya hides its own secrets. Beneath the square lie old Civil War shelters, and legends tell of tunnels once connecting to the metro. This is also where medieval walls once stood, making it the crossroads between old Barcelona and the birth of the modern city
Portal del Ángel once marked the entrance to the medieval walls. Its name comes from a legend of an angel appearing here to protect the city, a reminder that even the most modern avenues are built on centuries of myths
Behind its Gothic façade, the Cathedral hides centuries of secrets. From the crypt of Saint Eulàlia: Barcelona’s young martyr, to strange gargoyles shaped like animals, every stone whispers stories of faith, fear, and legend.
Just steps from the Gothic Quarter lies a forgotten necropolis: dozens of Roman tombs from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD. Hidden in plain sight, it reveals how Barcelona’s story began long before the Gothic age.
our first stop invites you to taste homemade vermouth in a traditional local bar. You can also choose another drink if you prefer. Tapas are optional and available for purchase. This spot combines the Gothic Quarter’s history with an authentic taste of Barcelona, setting the perfect start to our mysterious journey.
A peaceful square with a tragic past, Sant Felip Neri was built over a medieval cemetery. The church walls still bear the scars of a Civil War bombing, making this hidden corner of the Gothic Quarter one of Barcelona’s most haunting sites.
Pont del Bisbe is steeped in legend. Some say stepping under its arches brings luck, while others whisper of secret meetings and hidden messages carved into its stone by those who once walked these streets centuries ago.
Legend has it that King Jaume I, the conqueror of Valencia and Mallorca, once walked these streets disguised to move unseen among his people. Some corners of the Gothic Quarter still whisper tales of his secret routes and hidden meetings, where decisions that shaped Barcelona were quietly made. We will stop to a local shop for a candy tasting here.
Plaça del Rei hides centuries of royal secrets. Behind its Gothic walls, kings like Jaume I ruled, plotted, and even imprisoned. Today, whispers of conspiracies and hidden treasures still seem to linger among the arches and courtyards.
Legends say secret tunnels once connected the square to hidden chambers below the Gothic Quarter. Today, its lamps and arches still whisper stories of clandestine meetings and midnight intrigues.
Our journey ends at a hidden local spot beloved by artists and musicians, where legends say Picasso, Gaudí, and even Rosalía once found inspiration. Here, you can choose between vermouth, absinthe, or a non-alcoholic drink to toast the end of our Gothic adventure.

Really enjoyed the Gothic Quarter tour, it was a highlight of my trip. The streets are beautiful and full of character, and the guide shared stories that made everything feel alive. We saw a few hidden spots I’d never find myself. It felt more like walking with a local than being on a tour.

Walking through the old streets while hearing mysterious and fascinating stories made everything feel magical. Ending with a vermouth was the perfect touch. Such a unique and memorable experience!
We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour and especially the vermouth! Thank you for your lovely review, and we hope to see you on another tour in Spain soon!
The Gothic Quarter is full of hidden gems, and our guide brought the history to life with great stories. So many narrow streets to get “lost” in, but our guide made sure we found the best vermouth at the end
This wasn't the typical tour that you only hear history and legends about the most iconic places in Barcelona. The treats and especially the vermut were great! The guide Tony was not only professional, was lovable and funny. Definitely I recommend this tour.
Such a fun experience! History, legends, absinthe and vermouth…everything was good!!! . Our guide Francisco made it unforgettable.
