Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park. It features three sprawling mountains with breathtaking sights, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization. Just a quick 15 minute drive from the town of Banff, Sunshine Village is the perfect place to escape the crowds and enjoy nature. Visit the gift shop and cafe before getting on a 22-minute gondola ride that will take you up through the rocky mountains and into the village. Take the tour at your own pace and either take the Mount Standish Chairlift or hike up the mountain to the viewpoint. Ride the Mount Standish Chairlift over 2,400 m (7,875 ft), the highest sightseeing elevation in the Banff and Lake Louise area. Experience 360 degree views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. You will feel like you are on top of the world. From there, catch even more breathtaking scenery from the Standish viewpoint platform or connect to the Sunshine Meadows hiking trails and visit the three high-alpine lakes; Larynx, Grizzly and Rock Isle. Then finish your day off with a cold drink and some delectable eats at Mad Trapper's Grill & BBQ (not included). Free shuttle buses are available to Banff Sunshine Village Gondola, with 6 daily pick-ups in Banff at various locations starting at 7:00am. Free shuttle bus with 6 daily returns to Banff at various times throughout to the day, last one departing the Banff Sunshine Village Gondola base area at 5:45pm

Bob N and Jim H were snow hosts that gave an excellent tour of all the mountains. We did blue black runs and they had us skiing some of the best runs. I highly recommend this tour...and it's free!
When my friend and I arrived at Sunshine, we were not sure which lifts to take or which runs to do, so we joined snow hosts Brad and Robin on a wonderful tour of Sunshine. I feel like Brad and Robin are friends forever! We enjoyed our second day of skiing very much because we were familiar with the lifts and runs Brad and Robin had taken us on. Thank you very much! We would highly recommend taking a tour with Snow Hosts if you are new to Banff Sunshine.
Beautiful views and trails. Make sure to wear in layers due to high altitude and unpredictable weather.
This was a great place to take in the scenery and explore the local trails without huge crowds. Just be sure to get there early. Lots of trails available to easily fill up half a day at least. The facilities are nice, the gondola ride is fun, and the views from the top are great.
This experience was wonderful. Very different from the Bannf Gondola though we enjoyed both. More opportunity to take short or long hikes from the top. Great viewing. Good eats at the pub.
The views and experience were amazing! There are multiple gondolas in the area and this one has the most natural views of the lakes and mountains as well as plenty of trails for hiking. When you get off the gondolas and they recommend bear spray for your hiking, you know you are in the right place!
This was one of our highlights of our trip. No need to lock in reservation times like the Banff Gondola. Gondola and chair lift were fun. The hiking at the top in Sunshine Meadows was outstanding!

Gondola and lift, only one direction was, due to lightening, closed. Wherever you were Erica, for trails, crew for safe return by bus/SUV were extremely helpful to take us back to main Stn. Well done!!!
