Combine Roman and historical heritage on this full-day trip from Avignon! Explore the former city of the Pope : Avignon, with its Popes Palace. Enjoy a glass of wine of Côtes du Rhône after your walking tour. In the afternoon, you will be in the Alpilles area. First stop will be in Saint-Rémy de Provence for a little walk in the city center, then you will visit the pretty village of Les Baux de Provence. Before the return in Avignon, admire the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pont du Gard aqueduct.

Meet your tour guide at 4 rue de la République, 84000 Avignon, to start the walking tour at 9.00 am.
Walking tour in the historical center. Enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the walking tour.
Visit of the Popes Palace. Lunch/snack on your own in Avignon after the walking tour.
Meet your tour guide in front of Avignon Tourism Office, 41 cours Jean Jaurès, to start the afternoon part of the tour at 2.00 pm.
Little walk in the city center
Enjoy your free time in the village of Les Baux de Provence.
Visit the impressive Roman bridge linking the 2 banks of the Gardon river. (museum entrance ticket ticket not inluded).

Fantastic guides. When I booked a full day tour. Instead, it was two tour with a two hour break between. The afternoon was quite rushed. I’m glad I got to see the Pont du Gard. That was two tours I would’ve booked differently and shows something I really wanted, a tour including Nimes. Or kayaking. Under the Pont du Gard if I could find an easy way to get there. I think it would’ve been more impressive from the water and approaching the with a flow of the water. I’d still try to use the same company because both guides are truly wonderful.

Our tour guide was Florian (aka Flo). He was exceptional!! Great English speaker, knowledgeable, sense of humor and you could see that he really loved his job. Enjoyed our tour with him and would highly recommend.

This tour only listed the locations the trip would go and the time the allotted. So with that in mind - the tour met its goal. However, was it really a tour? I think not. The driver took us to all three sites, dropped us off in each spot, gave us map (well, not each of us - every third one so we had to stay in groups) and as if on a scavenger hunt - suggested we go to several spots he mentioned, gave us directions to meet him back at a carpark to move on to the next site. So, it was NOT a tour, but more just transportation to each site and about 30 min in each place. No commentary from guide unless you asked a question.

Tremendous amount of history rolled into one tour. Long day but worth it! Highly recommend for those who enjoy history.
