It was a trap for tips and to buy things. Driver was nice over all excursion was terrible. Will not recommend or ever do again.
Tony was an awesome guide, he showed us great sites and shared some of the island’s history with us.
We did the Authentic Cozumel Island Tour – Best Sights & Mayan Experience with Cozumel Island Excursions and had such a great day. Big shout out to Manelu and Cynthia. Manelu was extremely helpful when I was booking for a group and made everything so easy. Cynthia was so sweet and kind and helped make sure we were connected with our tour guide. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, and our driver was wonderful. He drove very safely and was a total gentleman, always helping the ladies in and out of the van. During the drive, our guide shared history about the island and continued explaining things when we arrived at the local ruins, which made the experience even better. The Mayan dancing was amazing and really special to see in person. The tequila tasting was FANTASTIC. We actually bought a couple of bottles to enjoy during the rest of the tour. I highly recommend everyone do the tequila tasting because it is way better than tequila in the U.S. The honey and chocolate tasting was also very good, and the women running it were friendly and very clean and sanitary. The authentic tacos were out of this world, and we had time to browse the small shop and pick up some souvenirs. Even though it was a cloudy day, the beach was still beautiful. We sat down and had lunch at the beach restaurant and the food was excellent. Most importantly, we made it back to the ship on time, which always matters when cruising. I would absolutely recommend Cozumel Island Excursions. Our whole group had a blast and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you so much!
I went to this program alone when my cruise ship stopped.. we needed to meet at 10 am and we just went to the program around 10:45 am.. the first stop was the Mayan show and the tastings.. show was 2 minutes and we could take pictures if we give a tip for them.. we tasted tequila, chocolates and honey what was cool.. we got a poor amount of food and we could go to the another spot.. the bus was old, has a flat tire and dirty.. the AC didn’t work so inside was super hot.. the beach was cool and we got chips and salsa to eat.. the program said that it’s 5 hours but we arrived back around 2:30 pm and didn’t go to one place.. for me it wasn’t worth that much time and money
This has been a horrible experience. The tour was a scam — they didn’t deliver what was promised and made us waste over an hour of our time. The driver, Julio (from a company called Goex or something similar), became aggressive when we complained and asked for a cancellation and refund. They tried to change the itinerary and claimed that entrance fees to the sites were not included, even though that was never mentioned when we booked. They kept making excuses, saying they were "just the local operator" and that Viator had misled us. Nothing about this felt professional or trustworthy. We lost time, money, and peace of mind. I absolutely do not recommend this tour.
Exceptional experience. Really got to enjoy much of Cozumel from Mayan dancers, tequila, honey and chocolate tasting to beaches and souvenir shopping. All, with a very nice driver and tour guide. 5 Stars!!!
We had a wonderful time with our tour guide - Gizmo. He was very personable and accommodating. We toured with one other couple who were from across the country and on a cruise. We had a great time getting to know them and had lots of time to chat as we rode around the island. They were not interested in swimming, and neither were we since we were at an all-inclusive but what they were really interested in was having a lunch of real authentic Mexican fare. Gizmo had the perfect spot for us (The Mojito Factory right on the shore in a secluded spot) and ran interference for us with the restaurant staff so that we got the best. I needed some cash - and, of course, this guaranteed him a tip - so he stopped at a place with an ATM - again - very accommodating. All-in-all it was well worth our time, and we got to know the island a bit and see the local countryside.
The driver/guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We got to taste great chocolate and superb tequila. Lunch was included. My only complaint is that our pickup location was at the next port that was 3 miles away, so we needed to take a taxi over to it.
It was going to a local market, bought fresh everything...and bought a lobster at market. The food was excellent!! Had 2 kinds of Margaritas and she drove us home..perfect!! Tanya was awesome!
Trip was great. Enjoyed every moment. Tequila tasting was a blast! The cultural display was amazing. Brandon, our tour guide was fantastic.
