Itinerary

A journey to Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) connects you to pan-Asian arts and culture scene. ACM's prime objective is to provide a deep insight into the diverse Asian cultures and how they are integration into the present multi-ethnic society in Singapore. ACM widened its collection with the opening of its flagship museum in 2003 in the restored Empress Place Building – a fine example of neo-Palladian architecture. ACM exhibits Singapore’s history from a port city that brought people together from all over the world and it helped in examining the history of Asia's ethnicity. Exhibitions often bring magnificent displays from around the world. There are also special programmes such as the annual River Nights that encourage visitors to connect more closely with culture and the arts.

We joined one of the free...

A great museum with lots to see. We joined one of the free tours which was really informative; we learned so much more than if we had just read the boards. We spent a couple of hours there but could have done longer. The guided tour was an hour long.

A Terrific Show.

This is a fabulous, informative and a very well curated exhibition. I particularly liked the display of recovered sunken treasure, the ceramics were delightful.

Beautiful clothes, beautifully displayed.

I enjoyed the permanent exhibition from the shipwreck but also was very pleased to come across the couturier dresses display. I enjoyed that very much.

Most enjoyable afternoon

I really enjoyed reading about the trading history across Asia and in particular the important role Singapore has played across history.

Very good collection

The museum houses a representative collection of various facets of "Asian civilisations." It is certainly worth visiting.
