Trip for gogo tourists. None, without interest, minute visits to the pace of shopping stop restaurant imposed bad food canteen, on a dangerous site, with nothing to do except the misery of the road landscape. I do not recommend this outing
Unfortunately the church in arucas was closed.no information about it.everything else was ok.the desired space reservation worked well
The good thing about this tour was that you did get to see nice views of the island from the bus, and I did learn something new from the guides explanations. The tour was also on the cheaper side, so for that reason I still gave 3 stars. However, there are several aspects that could be improved. Before the trip, I was messaged from two different numbers, which was confusing per se, but one message told me to click a link to download my ticket, which I did, and was met with a button that said ”To pay (33,00€)” even though I had paid the full price through Viator. The message had a contact number for questions, which I then wrote to, asking why the system said I need to still pay when I had already paid. They informed me that they do have my payment and I don’t need to pay more, and admitted that it is confusing that the system says this. Hopefully they’ll fix it down the line. The mic of the bus that the guide was using was rather old and it was at times difficult to make out what he was saying. While my spanish and german are elementary at best, I could tell at times that he explained more in the other languages than in English, which seemed to be his weakest language. We also spent comparatively a lot of time at a restaurant and later a cafe that had basically nothing else to do around, so it kind of felt like we were just wallets with legs being carted around to buy stuff. Luckily I had my book with me and could read at the parking lot while waiting. The aloe vera farm stop was more interesting, but ultimately also designed for buying stuff. The biggest disappointment however was that the itinerary said we would stop at a spot with views of Roque Nublo, but we did not see it. In fact the guide never even mentioned it. I was really looking forward to that part of the tour, as it is an iconic sight of the island and I had not seen it before. In the end I have now left the island without seeing it. I feel like whatever happened, the guide should have at least apologised that we could not see it and still tell us something about it. But it was as if he was hoping that we just would not realise we missed it. Also, a minor thing for me but perhaps not for other travellers: the itinerary states that there is an option to visit the basilica in Arucas, but when we got there, the guide informed us that it is closed in the mornings. So even that stop became more so a time for people to spend their money in the souvenir shops next to the church.
The tour is pretty basic but I'm not sure that there's much to add as it is a small island. Our guide was enthusiastic but as the trip was in all three languages (English, German, Spanish) there seemed to be the least information provided in English. Other reviews mentioned this so we were prepared. It is just a bus ride around the island with a few small stops. It is much easier than driving ourselves so we liked it. The stops are brief at 30-40 minutes. The restaurant lunch was a wonderful tapas sampler and the staff were so friendly. The final stop at the Aloe farm is again as expected. Many reviews comment that it's just a marketing stop. It is but fortunately you aren't there more than an hour and it is in a nice valley so we didn't mind. I would rate it as an average tour but it met our expectations so an easy 4/5. The driver is VERY good as those roads are terrifying along the edge. *A tip at the lookout point is that we discovered a lookout centre with the volcanic history of the island and nice clean bathrooms. My partner and I were the only ones to discover this as the guide did not mention it. Overall, we wanted to see something beyond Maspalomas and this ticked the box. Also, our pickup was a few minutes late. This was no issue at all since the company uses WhatsApp and quickly responds to queries. Very much appreciated that.
You see a cross section of Gran Canaria. Possibility of fog and clouds blocking the view from Roque Nublo but anther stop will take its place.
The itinerary went very well, the guide talked a lot but did not explain the most important thing, which was the history of the place. He kept recommending bars for coffee and took us to a restaurant, which he recommended, which if possible avoid, we were charged 15€ for a horrible menu, which was scarce and not very good quality, what saves the restaurant are the views. The last stop is a plantation of Áloe Verá, which they do not detail. The price of the tour is not cheap for what they offer.
I was lucky enough to arrive in Teror, which you call Terror, the day after the city's religious festival. The balconies were still decorated and flowered. It is a high place of pilgrimage in all the Canary Islands. The church has opening hours that did not allow me to visit, but the timing is personal. For tourists there is everything you need to eat, and shops. I remember finding two items for immediate use in leather goods.
Gran Canaria is amazing one side is a Moonscape without vegetation, the other side A virtual jungle with hidden gems of towns peeking out in the oddest places. Great trip Bring Money lots of amazing things to buy. Hold on to your seats a thrilling ride through the mountains . We had a wonderful driver and great tour guide
It was a very good trip . Very informative, and i got to see parts of gran canaria that I wouldn't have otherwise. Such a beautiful island away from the normal tourist spots which are lovely in their own way . It was a well organised trip and the driver and guide were really friendly and helpful . It was good value for money and I'm glad we done the trip .
Fast paced but wonderful! Food was great, guide was entertaining and knew some great facts and history.
