On June 27, 2026, I booked an Aruba Private Airport Transfer through Viator for 6 travelers. During the transfer, the driver failed to properly secure the luggage. When he braked, the unsecured luggage struck my daughter with enough force that she screamed and I had to physically lift her from the third row to the second row of the vehicle. The driver heard my daughter screaming and did not stop or check on her at any point. When I contacted the operator through Viator’s platform, they acknowledged the driver heard my daughter crying but attempted to minimize the incident by referencing a tip I left at the end of the ride. My daughter was physically harmed due to driver negligence. I will be contacting the BBB as well.
We take the safety of every passenger, especially children, very seriously. For that reason, we would like to clarify the facts regarding this transfer. The transfer began normally. Shortly after leaving the hotel, the driver heard your daughter crying for approximately two minutes. It is not unusual for a child to cry briefly during a ride for many different reasons. At no point during the transfer did you or any member of your family inform the driver that your daughter had been struck by luggage or that she had been injured. If the driver had been made aware that a child had been injured, he would have stopped the vehicle immediately to check on her and provide any necessary assistance. A driver cannot respond to a situation he has not been informed about. After those initial two minutes, your daughter was no longer crying, and the remainder of the transfer continued normally until your arrival at the airport. Our company first became aware of your allegation after the transfer had ended, when you were already inside the airport, approximately one hour after being dropped off. If your daughter had been seriously injured during the ride, we respectfully ask why the driver was not informed immediately so he could have stopped the vehicle and assisted your family. We also note that, at the conclusion of the transfer, the driver was voluntarily tipped $10. While tipping is always appreciated and entirely at the customer’s discretion, it is difficult to reconcile this with the allegation that the driver knowingly ignored a serious injury during the ride. Although our review found no evidence that the driver was aware of an injured child during the transfer, we immediately honored your request for a full refund in good faith. After the refund was processed, additional compensation beyond the refund was requested, which we respectfully declined. We remain committed to providing safe and professional transportation to every guest. Had we been informed of any injury during the ride, the driver would have stopped immediately to ensure your daughter’s well-being. We believe it is important that the full sequence of events is presented accurately so that readers have a complete understanding of what occurred.

They were waiting for us when we arrived, took us directly to the van gathered all our luggage and off to the hotel. Quick and efficient.

My daughter and I had a FANTASTIC experience with Viator!! We were held up getting our luggage from baggage claim and were nervous we missed our ride. When we finally got outside, our driver was waiting for us with a big smile & a warm Aruba welcome! He told us all about the island and how accessible everything is, the best introduction to the island we could get. Thank you SO much, we look forward to our return ride with Viator soon!!!
Overall, the car was clean and the staff was nice! Our issues were unique to traveling with kids. We requested, and confirmed via phone call, that we would have a car seat and a booster seat, however at time of pickup they had neither. When we asked about a resolution (getting a car seat), we were told that essentially no company has them and they didn’t know if they could even get one. In the end, we got to the hotel safely, but just a fair warning for those traveling with kids.
Booking was smooth and our driver was ready and waiting for us with a sign. We got to our destination quickly. Thank you!
