Don was our guide, of Indian descent with very good English. Personable, and well informed in the history of the Bergen area. Very enjoyable hour and a half. Even if it is raining as it was for us, don't miss this tour.
A nice short walk around Bergen city center with friendly tour guide. It is convenient tour for whoever just wants a short sightseeing around the city center and know the history of this beautiful city.
Very interesting bits of information about Bergen, especially the history and importance of King Cod. Don has a nice sense of humor, was quite open to questions, covered many areas of the town.
Informative walking tour around Bergen. We enjoyed learning about the history and culture of the city. It was a nice way to start our visit. We also appreciated the guide's recommendations about local restaurants and sights.
We had a beautiful walk around Bergen, learning much about its history and gaining insight into today's culture. Our guide Matthew had a refreshing style to add to the mix.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that we could make your Bergen experience more memorable.
Lot's of fun with experienced guide! Our guide gave just enough information with a great sense of humor!
Hi Barbara, thank you for the feedback. It was indeed a fun tour. Don
A great visit to Bergen with Mathieu, who showed us some lovely spots, Bryggen, as well as some lesser-known but authentic neighborhoods. Thank you for the address to enjoy a delicious hot chocolate. Top-notch guide.
Merci beaucoup. Ravie de voir que vous gardez de si bons souvenirs de notre ville.
Fabulous walking tour of this beautiful town. The owner of the company, Norwayfarers, was our guide and he was soooo good. He told just the right amount of details and stories as we walked the harbor area and old part of town. He shared insights into things to do, where to eat, what the locals do, even giving each group a brochure "know Bergen" that I think he prepared. the meeting point was a little tricky to walk to from the ship because no direct line to walk and the GPS on our phone had us doing circles. We just asked the wonderful people there and made it, but just allow yourself plenty of time for a few wrong turns. Without spoiling the surprise, our guide had a surprise for us after walking thru the "world famous" fish market.....it was interesting and very worthwhile. Also, have an umbrella and/or poncho, as we were told Bergen is the second rainiest city in the world. As fast as it rains, it clears up. Even though it rained most of our tour. our guide made it fun and enjoyable.
Thank you for this thoughtful review Pamela. Glad to see that you loved our tour and benefited from the leaflet I prepared. We selected our meeting point at an equal distance from both ports in Bergen. It is a central location in the city, just in front of the Tourist Information Centre. However, I understand that it can pose a brief uncertainty for visitors. I agree with your suggestion that visitors should factor in half an hour buffer to reach the meeting point in time. Don
Mathieu is a great guide who shares the keys to the highlights while taking us partly off the tourist circuit. He loves to share with small groups about the history of Norway and the Vikings. Bravo
Merci beaucoup.
Tour of Bergen with a French student who has been living here for several years, thus knowing the ins and outs of the city, away from tourist paths. Very interesting and comprehensive visit, both historical, anecdotal, and varied depending on the neighborhoods. A wonderful exchange during this hour and a half, especially since there were only two of us (us), and thanks to him for the good local addresses! Do not hesitate, go ahead to discover this beautiful city to the fullest!
