Experience Arenal´s only wild frog sanctuary at night, when colorful tree frogs and other rainforest wildlife are most active and most easily observed. At least 28 frog species have made their home the ponds of Arenal Oasis. The Rojas Bonilla family carefully maintains native plants of Arenal, to create needed frog habitat in this private wildlife reserve of fresh spring water fed ponds; within a rainforest refuge connecting the rainforests of the Arenal Volcano and el Rio Burio. The night tour continues past the frog ponds along flat trails immersed in the noisy night rainforest. The guide will point out animals hiding from you.Support, enjoy and learn about the only wild frog sanctuary in the Arenal Volcano Area. Tours led by trained naturalist along flat rainforest trails start at 5:00pm at your hotel.

Pickup Locations & Times
Tour departs from hotels in Arenal. You must indicate the hotel’s name in order to confirm the booking. Please confirm the pick-up time at least 24 hours before the tour. Important: Complimentary transportation is available for hotels located within approximately 35 minutes of La Fortuna town center. Hotels located beyond this service area may be subject to an additional transportation fee. Guests will be advised of any applicable surcharge prior to confirmation.

Amazing tour! We saw more than 10 species of frogs, 2 rare lizards, stick bugs and even sleeping butterflies and a rabbit.

This was a great activity. We loved the night walk with our Guide Aaron. He was very knowledgable and made our activity very exciting. It is highly recommended for anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica especially with the kids.

Excellent tour to see the nature beauty of Arenal at night. Byron our guide was so knowledgeable about all the types of species of frogs and other night creatures. He took awesome pictures. A fun way to spend the evening!
Great walk with a great guide, Carlos. He had a lot of super interesting stories and we saw all the animals we wanted to see, and actually more! He also took very nice pictures for us. It was a really great evening and we highly recommend this!
Lots of interesting frogs and critters. Saw an eyelash viper. Tour guide we had was less enthusiastic and perhaps sighted less than the other guides we saw in the area. All groups were 4 people which was a nice size for a group tour We saw a lot more/ enjoyed our private tour more/fantastic tour guide in Monteverde, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
