Arenal 1968 Trail Park Admission Ticket

Description
The big draw of the Arenal 1968 Trail is the fairly close views of Arenal Volcano. These views give you a look at the old lava flows, now hardened into rock, coming down the slope of the volcano and into the valley. On the edge of the lava field are also a lot of different sized volcanic boulders scattered around. It’s crazy to think about, but these rocks were shot into the air during eruptions at speeds of up to 2,000 km (1,200 miles) per hour. One large rock even left a sizable crater that you can see on the trail. To get to these features, there are a couple of ways to go. Note: All hiking trails around Arenal Volcano are limited to areas surrounding the base for safety reasons. Although there hasn’t been any major activity since 2010, the volcano is still considered active and is known to release toxic gases and hot steam near the summit.

This was a beautiful location and amazing views of the volcano. There are multiple trails to choose from for this location. We weren’t able to get as close to the volcano as we were expecting but it was still worth it and a different experience to hike up volcanic rocks.
We had an amazing time in the hike with doing Red and Yellow on the way down. We hiked with our kids (16, 14, 4, 2) and they really enjoyed the hike and views along the way. The cafe at the end was great and had really good food. We got great service from Nicholaus!
The place has the best view of Arenal Volcano! It feels like you can touch it. The sunset in this place is just magical. The staff was very helpful. I loved the place.
The 1968 volcano was fantastic, the entrance was easy to access the fees were reasonable the food at the restaurant was good & the view were spectacular
This made our entire trip, it was absolutely incredible! We did not have a guide but didn’t need one. We took the longest route and were so glad we did! We saw frogs, spider monkeys, coati, toucans, and the most beautiful scenic views of the jungle and volcano I could have hoped for. My favorite part of our visit!
This is a great place for a solo hike. Paths are clearly marked. Beautiful views. I decided to pick the longest trail option and it did not disappoint. Would def do again.
It is a nice 3 hour hike through lava fields and along a lake with a beautiful view on the volcano (if the sky is clear which was the case, but does not happen very often).
This is a beautiful great hike for beginners. 3 options for time 30 min trail 1 hour trail and 2 hours. It’s a jungle walk and Volcano ruins beautiful view of the Volcano
I would have never thought to hike a volcano. However, I visited this place for my study abroad trip with Piedmont University. It is an amazing, humbling, and gratifying experience. The view of the volcano is beautiful. The tour gives you three choices for hiking trails. There is an easy and short distance hike, an intermediate hike, and an advanced hike. I took the intermediate one, and it was filled with a few challenges that made me appreciate the adventure. Along the way is a space to stop and grab some beautiful site photos and at the end is a marvelous site filled with beauty, but it also has a restaurant for food and drinks. More than I could have thought to experience. This company really put a lot into making the experience memorable. There are even plant stations at the end of the tour that tell you what the plants can be used for. I loved this adventure!
Took the red trail and did not see any animals. Was a difficult hike up and down continuously lots of rocky trail and sliding dirt. Only thing great was the views of Arenal Volcano Lagos lake was covered in moss. At the end restaurant stop they do not sell water. Just sodas and nothing hydrating.
