Description

Join this spectacular journey along the breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way, through the lunar-like landscape of the Burren and on to the iconic Cliffs of Moher. See medieval ruins, 16th century tower house castles, churches, graveyards, drystone walls, quays, harbours, ponies, calves, cows, lambs, sheep and maybe even a leprechaun or two! Driving along the coast of Clare, witness the power of the Atlantic Ocean as it battles the coastline. Board the ferry in Doolin for Inisheer, the smallest and nearest of the Gaeltacht Aran Islands. Keep an eye out for local bottlenose dolphins that occasionally follow the ferry. On Inisheer, explore ancient castles, churches, narrow lanes, stone walls and deserted white sand beaches. The return ferry takes you on a guided scenic cruise beneath the spectacular Cliffs of Moher (weather permitting). Returning to Doolin, you go to the top of the Cliffs of Moher where you can take a stroll along the Cliffs. Departing the Cliffs you return to Galway.

Worth it!

Our guide, Phil, was fun and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained during the bus ride. The tour itself was amazing. The chance to see the cliffs from the water was worth the rain. The boat pilot gives you plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the spectacular views. The island was charming and gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Amazing!!!

This was a 10/10 experience! Love that it is a local family business I was supporting. Our guide Phil was amazing and kept things fun and lively. I always felt safe and I was quite impressed with his driving skills. I would book the same exact tour again in the future…seeing the cliffs from the water was an absolute highlight!!!!

Beware refund policy is a lie

Everything was good until they had to cancel part of the tour due to weather. Totally understandable but don’t believe their listing that says they will refund you for any cancellation as they definitely will not! We booked this tour specifically to see the cliffs from the water. It’s the one thing they couldn’t provide that day. We only asked for a 1/4 th refund for missing that part of the tour and were denied through Ireland Wild Escapes and Viator. We were not offered anything additional that day to make up for it, we just sat at the top of the cliffs longer to kill time. It’s unfortunate they aren’t truthful in their posting as the bus driver was wonderful, as was the rest of the trip. So just beware if you book, unless they cancel the entire tour or you do before your cancellation date, you are out your money if they can’t provide the trip they scheduled.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback Tracy. As we discussed with you, due to safely reasons we had to cancel the cliff cruise as the weather made it unsafe to continue with this cruise. This doesn't happen often, but our guide makes up for this change by making the rest fo the tour as interesting and fun as possible. We don't list that this part is refundable on the tour detail. It was fantastic that we got you out to the island to enjoy that part of this amazing tour before the weather turned on us and we had to alter this tour slighly for safely reasons. I am delighted you enjoyed the rest of tour so much.

Amazing tour of one of...

Amazing tour of one of the Aran Islands and to see the cliffs from the water and land was a great showcase of their size with a better understanding of how they were formed. We were also lucky that the weather held out for the day.

Stunning!

Amazing experience! I recommend getting the horse and carriage on the island to see the shipwreck, then doing the castle. Should still give you enough time for lunch. For the cliffs, definitely ride on the top deck of the boat. You'll get wet, but its well worth it for the views! The guide was great, very knowledgeable. We saw 4 or 5 castles from the bus just driving to and from the attractions!

My sister and I have done...

My sister and I have done the “wander and drive ourselves” around Ireland before, but this time traveling with our 82 year old dad, we wanted to have a more structured experience and this trip was perfect for that goal. Alan, our guide, was so personable and he shared so many interesting historical facts. (Bring anti-nausea medicine if it’s a rough day. People were struggling on the ferry due to rough water.)

Don’t just see the cliffs by land!

Excellent tour! Loved going to the Aran Island and seeing the cliff from land and sea. Only downside is that the boat was overcrowded so you had to stand in order to see the cliffs. The boat staff was rude even though they overcrowded the boat. But even with that, it was a great tour and our guide Alan was terrific! Very helpful and knowledgeable!

I’m glad the weather...

I’m glad the weather cooperated and we were able to do this tour. I would have enjoyed hearing more history about the country during the long bus trip to the boat!

A full day of beautiful sights

We had an amazing day on this tour. First starting out with our wonderful guide Pawel who was funny and informative all throughout the journey. The ride on the countryside and then getting to hop on a ferry and explore the smallest Aren island, then explore the cliffs from below and then above. It was all amazing! Highly recommend!
