On A Whim

Found this last minute as my mom and I needed something to do while the men were fishing. I must say, it was better than i expected it would be. Our tour guide Donna was great and very knowledgeable. The amount of history I left with was uncanny and I was excited to share this with the rest of our family. If you are in the mood to learn more and get to know the area, this is a great tour. We even got off the trolly a few times to take some pictures.

Terrific Trolley Tour

Our Deluxe Trolley Tour was one of the absolute highlights of our visit to Anchorage. Our guide, Lilly, was outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, incredibly funny, and clearly passionate about sharing the history, culture, and beauty of Anchorage. She brought every stop to life with fascinating stories, local insights, and a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone entertained from beginning to end. The tour itself was exceptional. We loved keeping an eye out for Alaskan moose, learning about the rich history of the Alaska Railroad, and hearing the story behind the Captain Cook Monument. The stops along the way were fantastic, especially Lake Hood Seaplane Base, where we were amazed by the world’s largest floatplane airport. Watching anglers at Ship Creek hoping to land a prized King Salmon was exciting, and Earthquake Park provided a powerful look at the impact of the devastating 1964 Good Friday earthquake. The breathtaking views from Point Woronzof, overlooking downtown Anchorage with the magnificent Chugach Mountains in the background, were simply unforgettable. Lilly made every moment memorable with her warmth, wit, and expertise. If you’re visiting Anchorage, this tour is an absolute must-do, and if you’re lucky enough to have Lilly as your guide, you’re in for a truly exceptional experience. Five stars all the way!

Our First Time in Anchorage

The tour was well worth the money and time. This was our first time in Anchorage and the tour provided a lot of information and history of Anchorage as well as Alaska in general. We enjoyed the stops along the way. Our tour guide, Donna McCarrey, was very informative and humorous. She added a lot to the tour with personal stories. Overall a great tour that I would recommend if this was your first time in Anchorage.
