Pompey’s Pillar Pompey’s Pillar was built in honor of Emperor Decaldianus. The total height of the column, including the base, is about 2,685 metres. On the west side are two bases, which can be reached via an underground staircase. There are also two pink granite statues that look like sphinxes.

Zahra was really helpful and accommodated a private day trip, transportation, and a great tour guide, including everything I wanted to see, as well as within the time I wanted to see it (had to be back in Cairo later in the day at a specific time).
