The Amalfi Coast is one of the most evocative and fascinating places in Italy, and perhaps in the world. Unesco Heritage site is the ideal place where to enjoy the sun, sea, and good food. This day trip guarantees tourists comfort and professionalism. Starting from Rome and traveling through the southern countryside, after a quick coffee break on the road, you will have the chance to admire the coastline and the famous town of Sorrento! Then, after one more hour of driving, you will visit the picturesque village of Positano, where you can have a good lunch, time to enjoy the colorful and narrow streets, and do some shopping. The afternoon will be dedicated to the archeological site of Pompeii, by yourself or with a tour guide (extra service), according to your preferences. Then return to Rome. We may change the order of visit according to traffic conditions or at our own discretion.

From Rome, you'll be driven for a couple of hours through the beautiful southern countryside. Our first quick stop will be along the toll road for a coffee and croissant break. After that, we will continue our journey until the Bay of Naples comes into view, along with the iconic Volcano Vesuvius. As we travel along the winding coastal road to Sorrento, we will have another opportunity to stop and take stunning photos of the Bay of Naples and the charming town of Sorrento.
After a coffee and cappuccino break, along with some photos of Sorrento and its bay, we will continue driving for an additional 45 minutes to reach Positano. Here, a picture postcard comes to life—a patchwork of flat and domed roofs, along with vine-covered stairways that tumble down to meet the gentle curve of the beach. You will have free time to explore this elegant summer resort, which is filled with designer boutiques, shops, and seaside cafés. You can also visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, notable for its dome made of majolica tiles, and home to a 13th-century Byzantine icon of a Black Madonna. For lunch, you can choose from various restaurants on the beach or opt for a light and delicious meal at one of the coffee shops.
You can explore one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the world either on your own or with a licensed tour guide for an additional cost of €130. The city of Pompeii was destroyed and buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. This devastating eruption covered Pompeii in 4 to 6 meters (13 to 20 feet) of ash and pumice, and the city remained lost for nearly 1,700 years until its accidental rediscovery in 1749. Since then, excavations have provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into life during the height of the Roman Empire. Walking through the excavated site, you'll encounter perfectly preserved baths, theaters, temples, markets, and forums, allowing you to step back into the lives of ancient Romans. After this extraordinary tour, you will be driven back home!

Alessandro took us on a wonderful tour of Positano, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, followed by a quick stop at Pompeii. He arrived on time and we returned to Rome at precisely 19:00. He was a great host and was very knowledgeable of the areas toured. He was very responsive to the questions we had and we was very good at conversation in both Italian and English.

My husband and I traveled to Italy with our 3 kids (18, 21 and 22) and my parents and we really wanted to see the Amalfi Coast but didn’t want a big tour. We are so happy we booked this private tour with Alessandro. We really enjoyed our trip to Positano and Pompeii. My mom uses a wheelchair for longer distances and he was extremely helpful in providing an experience that we could do all together. We were only in Rome for 2 days and we wanted to see as much as we could. This tour was a perfect way for all of us to see and learn about a beautiful part of Italy in a comfortable van with a very knowledgeable and kind tour guide.
Really glad we did it. I always wanted to go to Positano. It was a long drive and a bit rushed. Was so glad we did it though and so glad we did Pompeii with the kids. The tour guide for that was so wonderful.

The communication with the company was not good. I got an email with one hour to reply asking if we wanted a tour guide in Pompeii- when I booked this more than a month ago. Luckily I answered in time but the coordinator did not tell me I had to pay the tour guide in cash. I was 20 euro short and the driver had to lend me the rest until we got to an atm. The stop on sorrento on the way to Positano to get croissants is misleading. We essentially stopped at a packed convenience store off the highway- I was picturing a nicer cafe that gave a sense of the atmosphere. Also I asked for more time in Positano and less time in Pompeii in advance of the trip. This was also not communicated to our driver. The Pompeii tour guide was excellent - very engaging and knowledgeable. The car is very nice and clean and the driver was nice. It was just a bit of hassle for the cost.
I'm very sorry for the communication but I can assure that sometimes email messages with viator arrive even hours late. Moreover, dear Joy, due to cancellation policy, that is for customers 24 hours before start time, we cannot organize anything because any plan can be deleted. When it come the time within 24 hours we kindly ask if customers wish to visit Pompeii with a guide though it won't stand on us. It should be a request from customers, but we always try to be very helpful with travelers. I forgot to tell the driver that you wanted to spend more time in Positano than in Pompeii and to inform you that the guide service must be paid, if possible, in cash. I apologize for both shortcomings, we are a bit tired. Thanks anyway for your honest review. I will treasure it. Many thanks.

My friends and I booked this private tour last minute and it was fabulous! Even though we got stuck in traffic due to an accident, we were along the Amalfi Coast and enjoyed the views. We did wish we had more time in Positano. We had one of the best meals at the restaurant our driver took us to. It was a great way to see more of Italy!
