Thank you very much for a wonderful hike along stunning nature and history. Jack was a steady source of joy and insightful conversation. It was a fun, inspiring and memorable experience throughout. The visit to the tea house afterwards rounded up a day of learning a lot about Chinese heritage. I enjoyed the entire day a lot and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone, who wants to experience the Great Wall somewhat off the track everyone takes.
I had a great day with my tour guide Bruce! After an 1.5 h drive to Jiankou, we started our hike and Bruce took me up the hill to an unrestored part of the Great Wall. We had an amazing view from there! Then we followed the wall towards Mutianyu. It was great fun following that path that could be quite steep or full with rubble sometimes. Bruce explained me everything I wanted to know, not only about the wall, but also about Chinese culture and Beijing. He was very friendly and considered my wishes anytime. The lunch in the end was delicious! I would recommend this tour with Bruce to anybody who is fit enough to do a medium challenging hike and wants to get to know more than just the touristic part of the Great China Wall.
We did a great hike with Lily’s company and our guide Bruce was easygoing and very flexible. We went to the Jiankou section, but it was closed due to heavy rains. Bruce immediately re-planned our hike and took us to the Mutianyu section which was almost an hours drive away. We hiked all the way to the top of the Mutianyu section and also went a little bit on the Jiankou’s unrestored section. He patiently waited whenever we stopped for photos or for catching a breath. We really liked the professionalism of Lily and Bruce and would highly recommend them!
