I highly recommend taking a guide to visit, the explanations were clear and relevant. The lady who took care of us knew her subject well. With line passes it's definitely worth it.
The tour guide Franchesco was well researched, prepared, and enthusiastic about the history and art of Rome. His strong historical background knowledge was so helpful and he worked with us to ensure we experienced and saw everything we expected and wanted to see during the tour. He has a great sense of humor, too.
Absolutely amazing. Our guide was Tommaso - he was absolutely brilliant - his knowledge and ability to ascertain what we were most interested in were outstanding, and I would recommend him any day. The tour itself was brilliant, engaging and all-encompassing. Allowed us to get the background and detail of each site, and then return to places like Trevi Fountain when there was not so much of a crowd to throw the coins to ensure a return to this lovely city! Awesome day and awesome guide .... 5 stars!
Any words that we use in describing this tour by Tommaso wouldn’t be doing it any justice. This was, by far, the best and most informative tour we’ve ever taken! My fiance and I wanted a great experience, and it far exceeded our expectations. Tommaso was amazing, giving us a walking tour of the best Italy had to offer, and more. He is soooo knowledgeable and a delight to be around, as he would point out and teach us about virtually every corner we turned into. In a city so rich in history, he knew it all! 100/10 recommend this to anyone who wants a tour of Rome in a day!

Our guide Paola was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable and engaging to us and our children. Our tour was to include some areas where we had been already so instead, on the fly, Paola gave us more details about the Colosseum, Palatine and Forums which my husband was keen to have (the tour was his birthday present). Her knowledge and experience in leading us thru the Vatican Museum, Basilica, etc., in the afternoon was so illuminating. Our 16 year old son was impressed to the point that he took lots of photos posting them on Instagram. Paola's experience as an archeologist provided a unique prospective into the ruins and how the art treasures of the Vatican found their home.
My boyfriend and I had been to Rome previously and had experienced an all-day walking tour of the city. Because our first experience was so great, we decided to book again when traveling there with his college-aged daughters. Rome is an amazing city with SO MUCH to see, and this tour gives you all of the big-ticket items in one day. If you only have a few days in Rome, I HIGHLY recommend that you book this tour. If you have the opportunity to do this on your first day, it will give you a glimpse of the entire city, which then allows you time to explore other neighborhoods, revisit the great gelato shop your found and see other signs not covered during the rest of your visit. Massimiliano was our guide and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The amount of time that is spent learning all there is to know about the history and culture is well-evident and it makes the tour so much more entertaining and interesting. Massimiliano took great time and care to go over the highlights and even though 2 of us had taken a similar tour before, we still learned new things about the sights we saw. While not an inexpensive tour, if you add up individual tours to see all of the sights that are covered here, the price is competitive. And, this is a private tour which allows one-on-one interaction with your guide making it a truly memorable and informative experience. I would highly recommend this tour company and Massimilano as your guide. Do yourself a favor and book this tour for your next trip to Rome!
Francesco was the best! From the word "go" he was a wealth of knowledge. It was more than just dates and names, although he knows that too, but he made history come alive. He also made it relevant to present day. This was a private family tour with two young teenage boys. They were both engaged throughout the whole day. Francesco kept them going and and had them participating in their own learning. He was also very adept at "reading the room" and knew instinctually when to move onto the next topic. He was great. We cannot say enough wonderful things about a tour with Francesco.
Best tour we did during our trip to Europe. Tommaso our guide, was incredible. He was so knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk with, and he was more than happy to answer any of our questions. He provided us with so much history and information about Rome, that it felt surreal at times. It was an experience, I will never forget. Trip of a life time.
