Description
A chance to discover the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and see the landscape and scenery that inspired James Herriot. You'll visit the locations used in the current series of All Creatures Great and Small such as the Village of Grassington, which is currently being used as Darrowby in the series. You'll drive through villages and over passes admiring the views and taking in that in stunning landscape. You'll stop at Bolton Castle where Herriot proposed to his wife and was a favourite location of the author.

Itinerary
Explore the charming village of Grassington, filled with cobbled streets, local shops and pubs. The village is used as Darrowby in the filming of All Creatures Great & Small.
Visit the famous Wensleydale Creamery in the market town of Hawes. Taste their award winning cheese and a personal favourite of TV character Wallace & Gromit.
Discover the beautiful waterfalls of Aysgarth. This makes an impressive stop on your tour and makes for a perfect picture.
Visit the medieval Bolton Castle, once a prison for Mary Queen of Scots, this beautiful castle has stunning views over Wensleydale. The castle was a favourite place for James Herriot and is the place he proposed to his wife. *The Gardens are included in your tour price *(Please Note: On the dates listed below there is no Public access to Castle Bolton and therefore the tour will not stop here. 6th June / 12th June / 27th June / 17th July / 26th July / 1st August / 22nd August / 11th, 12th & 13th September / 26th September 2026.)
Spend the day driving through the National Park stopping at various points to admire the views and take plenty of pictures.

- Please note due to a prominent Bike race in the area on September 5th - the tour will follow a different route than we typically do. This will not affect your attractions or the length of your tour.
- Combined Tour: On selected departures, this tour shares a vehicle with guests travelling on our Yorkshire Dales tour. Both experiences explore the beautiful landscapes, villages and stories of the Yorkshire Dales, and the day is designed to be equally enjoyable whether or not you are familiar with the television series.

Our family really enjoyed this tour. Pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views and scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. Grassington was lovely, the historic castle tour was a pleasant surprise and perfect for kids and history lovers, and Wensleydale Creamery was a picturesque spot to have lunch. Highly recommend!!
It is very scenic and Bob provided a great deal of information along the way. With all that is included, there is not really adequate time for lunch, so I recommend bringing along something handheld (ie sandwiches, only permitted food to eat on the bus). Loved travelling along the winding narrow roads with views of the fields, sheep, cattle and stone walls.
This was a truly outstanding tour through stunning countryside led by a great guide. Ben gave us a real insight into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and was an excellent driver.
I enjoyed going around Yorkshiredale, where it was hard to go around without a car. Although I had not seen the drama of "All Living Things...", I still enjoyed the place I visited without any confusion. Nature, history, cheese factory. The guide also served as a driver, but there was no interruption. The van was spacious and comfortable, and I didn't get tired.
A beautiful tour into the dales. The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. The small tour bus was comfortable and provided a smooth ride. It is a beautiful area to view. If you are a fan of All Creatures Great & Small, it is an added bonus on the tour.

The tour through the Yorkshire Dales was wonderful! Our driver, John, was very knowledgeable and personable. The size of the tour was perfect. We learned a lot about the area and about the filming of All Creatures Great and Small. We only wished that we could have spent more time in Grassington Square (Darrowby). Overall, it was a great day.

Had a great trip guided by Ben. It was fun to see some filming locations and enjoy the drive through the beautiful countryside of the dales. Highlight was the castle visit at the end, relaxing way to end the day! This tour was a great way to se the countryside alongside some filming spots from All Creatures.

This was one of our favorite tours of our trip. We loved our guide who was knowledgeable and funny, and had a gentle spirit. It was a beautiful day driving through the hills and dales through and to communities we have become familiar with through the James Herriot series. I recommend this one very highly!

Our driver/tour guide was Barry (along with Billy, the goat). We had SUCH a great experience. Barry seems to actually know everything it is possible to know about Yorkshire. He gave constant, interesting commentary the whole trip so we were never bored, and he was able to answer every question we had. (Perhaps this sounds like it could be annoying, someone talking for eight hours? It really was just pleasant and fascinating. Barry has a good delivery that's gentle on the ear.) And of course, the Dales were gorgeous. I had thought that we would be seeing sights from the books - so the actual places James Alf White stayed and went and did things in, but it was more a tour of filming locations for the two television series. Honestly we didn't care - it was lovely. Recommend hands down.
