Itinerary
Look for the Blue Umbrellas and prepare yourself to start a journey into the soul of Lisbon.
The Chafariz de El-Rei, which was probably the first public fountain in the city of Lisbon, was built in the 13th century, taking advantage of the excellent waters of the Alfama hillside.
It was once called Chafariz dos Cavalos (Horse Fountain), and it's Alfama's central plaza. Its current name comes from the fact that it is located within the walls of the Fernandina wall.
Next to the ancient wall, this is where memories of the old Alfama still linger.
Yet another special place in Alfama where we sit to listen to stories that cross culture and ancient habits.
This beautiful church and square is one of the main spots where the famous Popular Saints Festivities take place. A place of many stories and tales.
One of Lisbon's most iconic murals by the hand of Nuno Saraiva.
Depending on the pace, we will go inside the mazy Alfama and reach the Church of Santo Estêvão Viewpoint.
This viewpoint is one enormous balcony overlooking all of Alfama. Its panoramic view has illustrated countless postcards.
Yet another iconic spot in Lisbon, this terrace is as romantic as it gets.
Lisbon Cathedral, better known as Sé de Lisboa, is the oldest and most important church in the city. Its construction dates back to the 12th century. We won't be going inside the Cathedral (cost of entry 5€).
What better place to celebrate Lisbon than in front of the Church of Santo António, Lisbon's most cherished saint.

It has been a unique experience walking through the streets of the Alfama neighborhood, learning its history; it was truly amazing, and the guide Diego, what can I say, did an excellent job, he is fantastic, I really liked it.
We had a great time thanks to Melanie, who was a super interesting and passionate guide, as we did not notice the 2.5 hours passing. I highly recommend...
Fantastic guide. We have learned a lot. Thank you!
Diana is a very enthusiastic person, excited about everything she shares. The information was very useful for our visit to Lisbon, and we learned a lot about Portuguese culture. Without a doubt, I would repeat with her.
The walking tour of Alfama was lovely and very enjoyable. The tour is about two hours and covers much of the district. Our guide, Miriam, spoke excellent English and clearly knew the Alfama and the people who lived there. She clearly enjoyed sharing the neighborhood with us. She was also kind enough to recommend several good restaurants for later dining, and some other places to see in the city. I wholly recommend this tour for newcomers to Lisbon. I would warn visitors that there are a lot of stairs, so be prepared to do some walking and climbing. You should also bring some water, but if you forget, there is at least one place where you can get some.
The experience was wonderful. Kike is an excellent guide. I loved the liquor in the chocolate cup.
Excellent free tour with Kike; if you want to know authentic Lisbon, this is your free tour in a completely genuine neighborhood. Great job, Kike
Miriam was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and provided in depth information. She also looked after us carefully while we climbed the hills.
Elvira, besides being very knowledgeable, is also very engaging as she was able to convey her passion for the city and the beauty of the neighborhood visited. We were very happy!
A wonderful experience thanks to our guide Margarita; her closeness to the group made exploring Alfama a true gift. The guide passionately conveys the essence of the neighborhood and makes you feel at home from the very first minute. If you are looking to discover Lisbon with the best energy and an unforgettable smile, this tour is a guaranteed success.
