One of the best things I did on my whole trip. What a relaxing and delicious way to spend an afternoon in Oxford. The Skipper, Russell, was personable and engaging, and with only seven of us on board it was very intimate. Learned a lot about the river, especially about the live aboard boats—so interesting—and the boat houses from the colleges. And the tea service was really, really good. Four different kinds of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. I truly enjoyed myself.
We has a fantastic time. Everything was on time very well organised and relaxing. We had an afternoon tea which was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Most enjoyable, Max was very informative and pleasant, the whole experience was excellent.
Fabulous boat & food delicious sandwich,s and cakes , Duncan our skipper very knowledgeable and informative would recommend to friends and family.
The food was decent, although the hot water for tea was a little tepid. The sightseeing aspect feels exaggerated - you don’t see much and while the skipper was nice enough, he didn’t share any history etc. Nonetheless, it was a relaxing experience. The check-in could also have been smoother. Upon arrival, was asked to wait downstairs. Nobody called out our name, and we had to go to the bar to order a drink (totally fine, but would have been helpful to have that explained - we sat round waiting for a server)
I booked this cruise back in March for a friend's big birthday, but because both of us have been busy up till now and the weather hasn't been great, we put it off till June. It was such a fantastic day out. We had a wonderful picnic! Both my friend and I have dietary issues but the food was excellent and came in personalised picnic basket. We had sandwiches, a dip with vegetables 'sticks', potato salad, mine with prawns, plus two scones each, with strawberries, jam and clotted cream, plus elderflower cordial and water. We'd also ordered a glass of prosecco each. The three-hour cruise went up river to Port Meadow, one of my favourite places in Oxford, stopping off at The Perch for a loo and drinks break. We left in good time, so much so that once we got back to Oxford we had time to go down to and along the Cherwell, Oxford's other river too. The boats are great – really smooth and very quiet, being electric. Paul, our guide, was very knowledgeable, and told us a lot about the river and some of the architecture and history of the places we saw. I've lived in Oxford for 12 years, but I found out lots of things I hadn't known before. All in, it was a perfect trip, with excellent weather thrown in. Highly recommended! (The only reason I've given less than a5 for 'value for money' is that I bought the trip through another agency so I don't know how much the usual price was, but it seemed like excellent value).
This was a darling experience. I really loved having a high tea with my 17-year-old daughter while enjoying the river in Oxford. A pair of local women were also onboard celebrating a birthday so it’s even something that locals can enjoy!
It was a birthday treat for my daughter. We had a lovely time, our guide really made it interesting and funny, he made it feel really personal like he was just having a nice chat with the people on the boat. Food was lovely, sandwiches fingers were lovely and fresh. 1st class. Would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely time. The afternoon tea was fantastic, and the boat trip was both relaxing and full of fun encounters on the water. The commentary and stories from a very charismatic host were very interesting and we were laughing a lot. Highly recommended.
Our driver/guide was Max, he was brilliant, friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We has guests from different countries and he ensured everyone got the most out of the experience. The food was lovely.
