Great tour of Oxford with guide Sam!

This tour of Oxford was incredible! My guide, Sam Day, was so knowledgeable about historic and modern Oxford culture, and his love for the city and university was clear. He had several amusing anecdotes and covered thousands of years of history in a comprehensive and entertaining way. His experience as an Oxford student gave us a valuable glimpse into what life looks like at this incredible school. Highly recommend!!!

Great Lens on Oxford's History and Present

I took a group of American university students on a walking tour of Oxford with Jacob and Sam, two recent grads. We split into two groups to provide a more intimate experience. Jacob J. and Sam D. were both great. They wanted to get to know our interests and background and provided an in depth and balanced description of Oxford student life and the subtle and nuanced history of town/gown relationships. We left the tour more knowledgeable about Oxford's academic and social history and with an understanding of the role Oxford plays in the modern British academic and economic world. In addition, we were touring on a very hot day and our guides did great job of being sensitive to the needs of the group for shade and water. I would definitively use Footprints Tours again as the student guides provide an unique perspective that my students very much appreciated.

Outstanding!

If you go to Oxford, look for Hanna Bailey! As a Canadian tourist, I felt so lucky to have her. Hanna is incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, especially when sharing stories about the famous rivalries between Trinity and Balliol colleges. She is also a total pro—when a wedding in one of the libraries hijacked our tour time, she navigated the change flawlessly. I have nothing but amazing things to say. Hands down the best tour guide in Oxford!

The guide we had talked...

The guide we had talked extensively while stopped. It took us 34 minutes to begin walking towards anything significant at the beginning of our tour. While informative, I believe we would have hit more ground if our tour guide could also walk and talk at the same time, to make the historical aspects shorter and more condensed throughout.
