Nice afternoon. Food was quite delicious and the tea was tasty. The tea and food are inside, and you can climb a few steps to the upper level to take photos and cool off after warm tea in a warm room on a warm day.
Have your ticket ready and get there early. The experience is worth every penny, we really enjoyed it.
The river cruise was not pleasant. No air conditioning, and it was extremely hot. In addition, the boat was dirty. No window seats were available, and we were told that you have to pay more for that. We did not have the option when I booked the tour. Also, some of the food, especially the bread, was dried and tasted bad.
Very badly organised. The boat was very hot, no fans or air con in 30 degrees. Ordered an orange juice that never arrived. Sandwiches and cakes had been sitting on the boat for over 1 hour and were warm. Very disappointing.
Had lovely cruise. Good food. Scones were excellent. Informative commentary on architecture on both sides of the Thames.
Server dropped large tray of hot tea pots on my side and lap. Resulting in2nd degree burns from tea and bruise from teapot hitting side. Staff helped with ice and burn ointment. I had to sit in soaked pants from tea until cruised ended. Staff filled out incident report . Advised me to contact promoter for a refund. I am 84 yrs old and 1st trip to London my family $ 400.48 . Afternoon tea was ruined. I feel my $ should be returned. My name : Bessie Miller 417 W. 4th st , Chillicothe,Ohio 45601. Tea was paid for by me using my Visa card. My phone USA 740-703-1366. This was afternoon Aug 04, 2026. Please check incident report.I am waiting to hear from you, my partners were my daughter and 2 Granddaughters
Although we made sure to arrive early and earlier than most people, they still sat us in the middle of the boat and away from the views. And yes, even though we were one of the earliest to arrive, we were the very last to receive food. This is in spite of us having 4 children in our group, so they take a little longer than adults to consume food. So overall it felt like a very rushed, limited experience. This might be okay if you're just 2 people, but not as a family.
Very nice boat ride with good food and excellent customer service. Very relaxing and good narration of the landmarks along the river.
It was a great afternoon the boat service , servers and crew were amazing . Live commentary was informative and entertaining and the tea and food went above expectation.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service from both GetYourGuide and City Cruises London. I paid a significant amount of money for the Afternoon Tea Cruise on the Thames, with a ticket clearly showing a scheduled time of 3:30 p.m. However, what they fail to make sufficiently clear is that boarding begins at 3:15 p.m. and closes at exactly 3:30 p.m. I arrived only five minutes after the time printed on my ticket and was immediately refused entry. I understand that a cruise cannot wait indefinitely, but this was only five minutes—and there was absolutely no compassion, flexibility, or attempt to help. Even more appalling, they refused to provide a refund, credit, or opportunity to reschedule. Their only “solution” was for me to pay the full price again and purchase another expensive ticket. Essentially, they took my money, provided me with absolutely nothing, refused every reasonable solution, and then expected me to hand over even more money. The complete lack of concern shown by both companies was shocking. Once they had received the payment, it felt as though they could not have cared less about the customer or the fact that no service had been provided. If 3:30 p.m. is the absolute cutoff rather than the boarding time, this should be displayed in large, unmistakable language throughout the booking process—not buried in the details while the ticket prominently shows 3:30 p.m. For an experience this expensive, there should also be some reasonable policy for rescheduling or issuing credit when a customer misses boarding by only a few minutes. This experience felt unfair, misleading, and completely unacceptable. I strongly warn others to think twice before booking through either GetYourGuide or City Cruises. If anything goes wrong—even by only five minutes—do not expect understanding, assistance, a refund, or even a credit. You may simply lose the entire amount you paid and be told to purchase another ticket. DO NOT BUY THIS TICKET. The risk of losing your full payment with absolutely nothing in return is not worth it.
