The excursion was very educational and poignant to be able to see the wild animals (buffalo, meerkats, giraffes, elephants, ostriches, rhinos, warthogs and much more) in their natural environment. They were almost close to touch! Only the lions were housed in a (unfortunately far too small) enclosure. Our guide was mega nice and very eager to give us unique experiences. For people with back damage, the air-conditioned minibus was perfect. It would have fit 20 people in, but only occupied 10 people, so each guest had their own open window.
A strenuous but extremely eventful tour that everyone with only a short stay in the region should not miss. Perfectly organized and carried out by expert staff.
Reliable pick-up from the cruise port despite our late arrival. Air-conditioned minibus where the side windows could be opened for photographing. Friendly driver and a super guide who knew exactly where to best see the animals up close. There were drinks (chilled water) on the bus and the guide kept asking if anyone else would like to have a drink. Lunch was at a rest stop. You had free choice of different Rosterkoek (such as a mixture of panini and burger) and cake for dessert, with either South African beer (tasty) or soft drinks as well as water. The guide took time for all guests to answer questions. In both parks the stay and time for photos was perfect.
We had to spend the whole day on the bus and unfortunately also during the safari trip. Here you could only take pictures via a sliding window, which you could slide 20 cm. The second visit was more of a wildlife park than a safari trip.
Addo Park was great, but some guests couldn't see anything from their seats because of the pushed-on windows. We were late and had to eat the ordered food on the bus, because otherwise we had no time for the Kamma Game Park because of the long drive. The park is not recommended. More like a wildlife park with enclosures. The guide was great
Great guide fabulous encounters with elephants The national park is a true gem Will definitely come again
Fabulous day out. Very memorable. Guide and driver were lovely. Made my time in Port Elizabeth special.
Excellent tour. Great guide. Comfortable clean van. Ado exceeded my expectations. Kragga met my expectations. Guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs.
We just got back from a very disappointing day out. It started badly with no clear joining instructions, then a long walk to the meeting point, followed by standing for half an hour waiting for everyone to arrive, then another long walk to the bus. The bus was very cramped. I am only short but my knees were right up against the seat in front. When we got to the park it became clear that what had at first looked like an advantage of being able to open the tinted windows for photographs was actually a massive disadvantage. There were two windows together that when both opened slid over each other to make a completely black wall that I could not see through. The open section was so small that I could not get my camera out unless the object was at a direct 90 degrees to the bus. The people behind us complained that we had more than our fair share of the available space even so, and when pushed forward to accommodate them I could not take photos at all, nor see anything. In addition the headrests were so high I couldn't see forwards either. Many people were just giving their phones to the guide to take shots through the door. This vehicle was entirely unsuited to the task. In the first park we drove for hours through scrub seeing hardly anything and then in the last half hour finally drove to two watering holes where there was an abundance of elephants and zebra. I do not know why we did not just go there straight away and park to watch. It would have been a lot more fun. The second park was a complete waste of time. It was just a small zoo, so save your money and go to Whipsnade. Lunch was chaos and there was hardly any choice for vegetarians.
Good Day We sent you a text with the meeting instructions, Port Elizabeth does not have cruise arrival terminal and that's where guests meet the tour operators. It's a 5 minute (500 meter walk). We were waiting for all guest to arrive. There were 15 guests and the bus is a 22 seater, so not sure how it was cramped. It's the wild sightings are not guaranteed. Apologies if the tour was not to your standard.
Were with the AIDA Stella in Port Elizabeth. The trip was fantastic, our guide Mike gave us a great day. First Kragga Gamma then lunch break with him, short snack, then the elephant park. All very well organized and Mike spoke a very good English and knew a lot to tell. Be sure to use Carlin Tours! You will be satisfied.
