MEETING OUR GUIDE. Your guide will be waiting at 7 Makrygianni Street (close to the New Acropolis Museum). Our meeting spot provides an ideal perspective from which to view the surrounding wall of the Acropolis built by the earlier Mycenean civilization and to provide you with an introduction to the History of the Acropolis, its importance and role in the life of ancient Greece, and an overview of the temples & amazing monuments you are about to see.
TOURING THE ACROPOLIS and PARTHENON. Your informative guide will bring to life all of the major sites inside the Acropolis including: The THEATER OF DIONYSUS, considered the worlds oldest, and upwards to the gigantic entrance of the PROPHILIA, to hear about all of the Temples and other structures located on the rock of the Acropolis including the restored TEMPLE OF ATHENA NIKE, the PARTHENON, and the Mystical ERECHTHEION. Take in the myths & legends associated with the temples amongst the Athens views and finally descend through the olive trees to view the HEROD ATTICUS ODEON THEATER as you head towards the nearby Plaka Neighborhood. ENDING YOUR TOUR. Your Guide will end your tour at the Plaka unless you have selected a booking option which either extends your tour with food tastings, or ends at the Acropolis.
BOOKING OPTION TO INCLUDE FOOD TASTING If you have selected this booking option you can also immerse yourself in local Greek Food Culture as you learn about many traditional delicacies, from Loukomades to yemista', yigandes' beeftekia, and many others, including a wide variety of traditional pittas (special pies made with thin 'filo' pastry). See how they are made and end with your choice of dish with your helpful guide.
BOOKING OPTION TO TOUR THE ACROPOLIS ONLY: If selecting this option, then your tour will include 90-minutes private Guiding of the Acropolis only (and not Plaka).
BOOKING OPTION TO INCLUDE ACROPOLIS TICKETS If you have selected this booking option, your guide will have your dated and timed entry tickets ready for you. You need do nothing more.

Fabulous 3 hours leisurely walking up to the acropolis, taking breaks, listening to rich stories in the shade. The pace was perfect and informative. Marissa is a fantastic guide, so caring and knowledgeable. She made the experience one of a kind and very memorable.

Good tour guide, knowledgeable and nice, but didn’t exceed expectations. Sure, my kids were difficult, but I don’t think that should make our guide change her attitude. Maybe if this was an all-adult private tour, our guide would have shined. But our guide ended the tour 30 minutes before our paid-for time.
Dear Mr Tanner, Thank you for your comments, but we find them unfair and must object. We expected a family of 4 but you were alone as a father with 2 very young children of 4 and 6 who were obviously already tired with one crying throughout and wanting to be carried. With such small children this is of course understandable and our guide tried as much as possible to engage but unfortunately since the children were not so easy at that particular time as you also said, she (as anyone else may have done) found this challenging. Since you came with a stroller, which is not allowed inside the Acropolis, and which your guide helped you to store, this meant you needed to enter and exit the Acropolis from the same gate which made it impossible to leave through the north side & continue to see one part of the Plaka according to the schedule since this is not accessible with a stroller. This is why your guide left slightly earlier since it was not possible for her to complete this part of the itinerary. This would not be the fault of our guide. Taking everything into account, as well as the great experience our guides have daily with family groups which are consistently highly rated, we feel your rating has not been reflective of your tour or the best efforts of our guide.
Well-organized experience, very prepared guide and always ready to answer all questions. However, I found the cost very high (380€ + 85€ apart for entrance tickets to the acropolis) for a tour of just 3 hours and the time (10.30) too hot, it would have been better to start at least at 9.

Elena was a wonderful tour guide for the Acropolis - perfect amount of information and pace for our family and got us through lines and to good photo spots with ease. However, the second half is not a food “tour” of Plaka. After the Acropolis, we walked to a restaurant in Plaka and ate lunch and that was it. I expected more of a a local experience to maybe eat at various places to try local foods. I think this experience was overpriced for what it was.

However, we see this was not well described on our tour so we have temporarily removed this option until we have time to change the matching text for better accuracy. We apologize if it seemed that a more extensive food tour was expected.

5/5 best tour you could take! our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable and knew exactly where to stand so we would use some of the first to get into the site. She met us promptly at 7:30 AM and gave us all of the rich history of the neighborhood around and was even so kindto help me get special assistance with my disability. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend.
