Itinerary
The rocky hillock was the seat of the Areopagus Council. It was from this spot that the Apostle Paul first preached the doctrines of Christianity in Athens.
The Athenian Acropolis is the most famous archaeological site in Greece and a prominent symbol of Western Civilization. If you are visiting Athens you must experience a stroll on the Athenian Acropolis and admire some of the greatest achievements of ancient Greek architecture. These buildings were constructed during the Golden Age of Pericles when the citizens of Athens spared no expense to glorify their city with everlasting monuments. They include the monumental Gateway, known as the Propylaea, and three temples: the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike. The east and south sides of the summit also offer breath-taking panoramic views of the lower city, where some of the most important landmarks of Athens are located.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological Site - The impressive ruins of this monument welcome visitors to the Acropolis. Constructed in the 2nd century AD by the Athenian tycoon Herodes as a music hall it was highly esteemed in ancient times for its innovative architecture and opulent design. Today, the Herodeion remains a focal point in Greece’s cultural scene, hosting concerts and theatrical performances.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological site - This magnificent temple was dedicated to Athena Nike, the goddess who bestows victory. Despite its small dimensions the building captivates visitors’ views thanks to its prominent position and elegant form.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological site - Although the monumental gateway to the Acropolis was by definition a functional building, its architect Mnesicles was able to imbue it with the grandeur of a temple. Despite its irregular plan, the structure harmoniously combines architectural elements from the two main orders of ancient Greece - the Ionic and the Doric order. Several of its features were inspired by the Parthenon itself. The Propylaia is widely considered one of the most elegant architectural examples in the world.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological site - The temple dedicated to Athena the Virgin, known as the Parthenon, stands out as the centerpiece of the Periclean building program. More than just a house for the gold-and-ivory statue of Athena created by Pheidias or a treasury, the Parthenon was the material expression of the artistic and ideological visions of the people of Athens at the peak of their glory. Despite being relentlessly mutilated and plundered over the ages, the Parthenon still retains much of its initial grace. Join us for a tour to discover what makes the Parthenon so unique and why it is considered the most perfect ancient Greek temple.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological site - Dedicated to the worship of Athena Polias, the patron goddess of the city, the temple also housed altars of several other deities and figures from the city’s heroic past, including Poseidon and Hephaestus. During your visit you will discover why this temple was regarded as the most sacred in the city and why it has such a unique form. You will also learn the meaning behind several interesting elements of the temple, most notably the Caryatids porch.
Included in the Acropolis archaeological Site - Located on the south slope of the Acropolis, this structure is not just any theater; it is the birthplace of the art of theater. It is also the spot where the plays of famous dramatists Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides, as well as the comedies of Aristophanes were first staged.
The Acropolis Museum is one of the most important museums in the world housing unique archaeological treasures. The building itself is an ingenious masterpiece of modern architecture that engages in a conversation with the Acropolis hill. The gallery showcasing the Parthenon sculptures, the exquisite Korai statues, and the pedimental compositions of the Archaic Age are the most famous highlights. On the other hand, the educational presentation not only of original archaeological finds, but also of materials including scaled copies and animations, allows the visitor to delve into various areas such as mythology, Greek religion and cult practices, and ancient technology. Regardless of your personal interests, a guided tour at the Acropolis Museum will be an unforgettable experience.

Evangelos was a superb guide! We booked 1.5h visit of the acropolis, with a private tour. He explained and guided us through all the acropolis site, with his expert views and knowledge of the site. He is kind and fun, never boring. He also took us wonderful pictures whenever I wanted. The tour I booked was 1.5 h but he remained with us for almost 2.5 h. We enjoyed our private experience!
Our guide Evangelos was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my mother's needs as a person with a disability
I have to admit that I do not know much about ancient Athenian history and Greek mythology. Angelos did a splendid job patiently explaining and bringing the magnificent artifacts and monuments to life. He interacted well with children (10 and 8 yrs) to keep them engaged during the 4 hours we were together. Thank you Angelos for a wonderful day.
Dear Jeremy, thank you very much for your kind feedback! I have enjoyed the company of all the members of your family, both older and younger. Please rest assured that I will continue to do my best to offer the best possible experience to all my guests and improve the quality of my services

We had a great experience with Angelo on our tour of the Acropolis. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Though it was quite chilly on our January visit, it made for an uncrowded, unhurried and very memorable experience. We highly recommend Angelo as your guide.
Our tour with Angel was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens. His experience as a field archaeologist and deep knowledge of ancient history truly shine through in every explanation. What made the experience even more enjoyable was his warm personality, he welcomed every question and answered with insight and enthusiasm. Angel brought the ruins to life, making the Acropolis and the museum not just a site to see, but a story to experience. On top of it all, he’s also a great photographer. Highly recommend!
Our guide Angel was wonderful. He patiently answered our questions and was genuinely happy we asked so many. We enjoyed the variety and depth of information he provided. He also took good care of us (one of us disabled and the other seriously jetlagged). This was a déightful Tour!
Dear Marcel, thank you for your review! I enjoy being around people who share a genuine interest in Greek history and archaeology, like you do.
