Truly an experience to visit a night market in Taipei even with a festival going on at the same time nearby that made it very crowded. The sites, the smells, the food you don't want to miss the experience. It was nice to have Sonya to explain the smells and what the foods were, a lot of it we had never seen before.
Eva was amazing! Our flight was delayed and Eva still made sure our tour was perfect! She made it easy to know exactly where to meet her, and she was right on time, despite our delay. We do a lot of food and market tours, and Eva is one of the very best guides we have met. We learned a ton, and enjoyed so many amazing foods we otherwise might have missed. Highly recommended!
I am beyond disappointed with the unprofessionalism displayed by Withlocals/ Viator during my recent trip to Taipei. I booked a private city night tour, and while the companies were more than happy to send multiple automated texts leading up to the day, they completely failed when it actually mattered. • Zero Notification: I received no email, no text, and no call regarding a cancellation. • Stood Up: I arrived at the meeting site on time. I had even messaged the tour guide an hour beforehand to check in—silence. • Hidden Status: It wasn't until the tour start time had passed that I had to go into my TripAdvisor account, click "Contact Tour Operator," and only then did a note appear saying it was cancelled. • Wasted Resources: Because of this lack of courtesy, I wasted significant money on round-trip cab fares and, more importantly, I wasted my limited time in Taipei. If I had been notified even a few hours prior, I could have pivoted and booked another experience. Instead, I was left stranded. To send marketing or reminder texts but fail to send a cancellation notice is a poor way of doing business and shows a total lack of respect for the customer’s time and money. Avoid this service if you want a reliable itinerary.
Dear Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this situation caused you, especially after you had already made the effort to travel to the meeting point. We completely understand how disappointing that must have been. After reviewing the booking, we can see that there was an unfortunate synchronization issue between the Withlocals and Viator systems. Because of this technical mismatch, the cancellation notice unfortunately did not reach you in time. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and confusion this created. We truly hope that despite this setback you were still able to enjoy your time in Taipei and experience some of what makes the city so special. We would be very happy to have the opportunity to welcome you on a Withlocals experience in the future, so you can experience the care, quality, and authenticity our tours are meant to offer. Kind regards, The Withlocals Team
Daphne was so patient with us when we were 10 minutes late and didn’t make us feel bad at all! She was super knowledgeable about tourism and answered all of my questions. Then we went to the Night market and she picked amazing flavor profiles, even though my stomach was a little upset from the airplane food on the way to Taipei. I wish I could’ve spent the weekend with her learning more about this beautiful nation. Thank Daphne!! I wish I could say more but you just have to go! Mazu will bless you for many lifetimes!
Jessica was so awesome and generous. She gave us an amazing tour of the night market in Taiwan. Love her!!
Daphne gave us a great evening walk in Taipei. She provided plenty of information and help before we arrived and was spot on time. She was very informative on all aspects of the walk and was well organised for transport between the venues visited. We highly recommend recommend her as a guide.
A highlight of our stay in Taipei! Jessica was our tour guide and was so sweet, entertaining, and knowledgeable! Loved touring the Raohe NIght Market and the Michelin recommended Fuzhou Black Pepper Bun!!! (DELICIOUS!) And the beauty and spiritual experience of Songshan Ciyou Temple!
I highly recommend this tour with Garen. She was easy to communicate with in advance and gave perfect instructions where to find her. We combined a temple and night market and the entire evening was seamless and fun. Thank you so much!
For me, it’s great when a tour guide is knowledgeable, personable, and has good English language skills. Cola the fit the bill in every category.
Cola was a great guide- she shared her knowledge about the Ciyou temple and took us on a fun tour of Raohe Night Market and we ate our way through it until we were stuffed and happy!
