Zeferino was an excellent guide and Jonathon was a great driver. Learned a lot that we didn’t know about Mayan culture. Really enjoyed the tour. Word of advice. Trip was advertised as NO EXTRA EXPENSES yet when we arrived to check in, the checkin person tried to collect an additional $40 in taxes for the two of us and an additional $48 US per person for life jackets that were required at the cenote. After repeatedly explaining to him that there were to be NO EXTRA EXPENSES and showing him the Viator listing he finally agreed that no taxes were due but insisted that there was a $48 per person fee for life jackets. My wife and I both thought that this was outrageous and repeatedly asked if it was $48 US per jacket and he insisted $48 US. We did not pay for the life jackets at checkin. I reached out to Viator while on the bus to Tulum via their chat feature to get clarification regarding these Extra Fees and was told they would check with the tour operator and get back to me but we never heard back. When we arrived at the cenote, we learned that the life jacket fee was $4 per person. The lunch was buffet style and we both enjoyed it. Unfortunately, non alcohol drinks such as bottled water was an additional expense at lunch. Fortunately our driver had a cooler stocked with water. I would bring a non disposable water bottle and umbrella. Plastic disposable water bottles are not allowed in the archeological sites. Overall we had a fantastic trip even though we feel that the checkin person was trying to take advantage of us by attempting to collect additional money from us. Great guide, great driver, nice overview of the sites.
Excellent day out and definitely worth the price we paid. Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient and perfectly bilingual. The day was however extremely long especially for those doing the Playa Del Carmen part. The outing lasted 14 hours.
It was very hot, they could've provided water which I paid for in the tickets i booked. Had to pay much more out of pocket which wasn't expected. Was disappointed. The tour guide was awesome wasn't his/ their fault that Viator messed up.
Please double check everyone. We paid extra for drinks including water, and drinks with lunch was not provided. Tour guides and driver were pleasant and knowledgeable about sites and travel times. This error cost me an extra $50. My lack of payment and drinks to stay hydrated.
This tour was operator by Cancun Bay Tours. They did a great job. Zeferino was our tour guide. It is a very long and hot so be prepared.
Had such a great experience. Very knowledgeable and personable host. Be prepared for a long day. The ruins were nice but the swim was a perfect touch to a hot day.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Very nice and welcoming. We went on the ture on New Year's Eve so we left a little early and did not do the shopping in playa del Carmen. We were in a rush to get back for dinner that we forgot to tip the guy. He did an awesome job
Was a great trip other than the stop at the jewelry shop and tequila shop that we stopped at. The jewelry shop was crazy expensive and they follow you around. The tequila shop they were super rude. Other then those two spots we had a wonderful time. The cenote was our favourite spot to visit. Our guide saul was amazing and driver William was to. The tour was really long, about 14 hours. It was hot, but lots of great sites to see.
This tour was long but very worth it. We got to experience 4 amazing places. Although you don’t get enough time in a couple of places such as Playa del Carmen. So if you’re looking to explore things within a day, this is an amazing tour. Plus the bus rides are great to take a nap in and recharge. The tour guide did an incredible job. The lunch was pretty good. You do have to rush a bit since you are with a tour, so that’s the only thing that some people may not like, but overall just an awesome experience that I would recommend to others.
