Needs Adjustments to Improve the Experience

Although I have conflicting feelings about my experience, I did enjoy the excursion. In my honest opinion only two of the four sites ( Tulum archeology and the cenote) were worth the visit. Our guide for Tulum was very knowledgeable and the cenote was beautiful. You are left to explore Coba on your own without much to see. Lunch was underwhelming and did not take place in a restaurant. We were seated outside in what appeared to a picnic area in a very remote location. Shopping in Playa de Carmen was not what I expected. I think with modifications to Coba such as a guided tour and a different place to shop, the excursion could be so much better. But I do not regret going. It was still enjoyable.

Too Long

4 places in one day turned out to be ambitious. We left our hotel around 7:45am and returned after 8pm. This trip should be reduced to two places. I mostly enjoyed Tulum and Cenote. For Tulum it would have been nice to visit a beach in addition to the archaeological site. For the lunch, I was expecting a more authentic Mexican meal, but the food wasn’t much better than the resort food.

A nice tour worth of the 12-hour long trip

It was a fun trip blending Mayan ruins, natural beauty and cool 5th Avenue at Playa del Carmen. The tour guide Zeferind is very knowledgeble and taught us a lot about Mayan language and its advanced sciences. Really enjoyed visiting the two historic sites, swimming in the cool Kuxtal cenote and strolling along the beautiful 5th Avenue. The only reason I didn't give a 5 stars is that the arrangments of picking up. We had to walk to a different hotel to catch up the shuttle.

Operator response

Dear Weimin! Excellent. Glad you liked the excursion, walking along the 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, the archeological zone of Tulum, Coba and cooling off in Cenote Kuxtal is amazing. Sorry, the pick up time was probably changed, but we always preserve the safety of returning you to your hotels. We look forward to seeing you and we hope you continue to have a great vacation.
