Important Information

  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • What to bring: Warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket and pants, head wear, and gloves. Good hiking shoes are recommended.
  • The order of the itinerary might change due to weather conditions. Your guide will have full power to make amendments to the itinerary when necessary.
  • Minimum age is 8 years old
  • This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
  • We use a couple of different ice caves for our 3 Day Golden Circle & South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.
  • Solo travelers who do not select the single supplement will be accommodated in a shared twin room with another participant of the same gender.
  • You can take your day backpack and one piece of luggage weighing a maximum of 20 kg (44 lbs) on this tour. The combined dimensions of each bag must not exceed 158 cm (62 in). Luggage storage services can be purchased as an optional extra for a small fee.

The experience is...

The experience is excellent but you must carry waterproof jacket, trouser and shoes as rain and wind can happen on very short notice. If the sun goes behind clouds you can get a temperature drop 5-10 degrees. Layers of warm outerwear is also essential so you can take them off in the vehicle and put them on quickly before venturing outside.

Islanders experience

We had an excellent experience with our tour guide Viaggo. He incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about every aspect of Iceland, from its geology and history to its culture and landscapes, making the tour both enjoyable and educational. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. patiently helped each person put on their crampons correctly and never hesitated to offer a hand on the more difficult or slippery sections of the trail. Even walked the whole trail with us at the glacier His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made everyone feel confident and included. Thank you for making our Iceland adventure so memorable. We would highly recommend this tour and guide to anyone visiting Iceland!

Absolutely brilliant trip. Highly recommend to someone who doesn't want to drive but still enjoy the Iceland highlights with comfort. Our guide Sindri was very knowledgeable and gave many information regarding Iceland. He spoke on varied topics during the course of trip Like history of iceland , Icelandic horse and why it's special , Geography of iceland , Agriculture in Iceland , And many more. All in all, a great trip.

Highly recommended trip.

It’s a busy three days trip. It covers most of the popular scenery sites in Iceland, which is good enough for people who have limited days to spend in Iceland. The motel that we stayed in for the two nights included in the trip is clean and unique. Our tour guide/driver, Wendy, is very experienced and friendly. I had a fantastic time.

3 perfect day!

INCREDIBLE! We had the lovely Magga as our guide and she was fantastic! Knew exactly how to adjust the tour and sights based on weather and told us stories and history during the drive. 3 days was the perfect amount of time, never felt like we were driving for too long at one time and every stop had bathroom and most stops along the way had food too! The hotel we stayed at was basic, but not in a bad way. Very rustic with sheep roaming around, and the staff were nice and helpful! Would 10/10 book with them again. There was also great variety on the stops: if you wanted to hike more you could, if you wanted to take a more relaxed approach at the destinations you could too!

Operator response

Hi Melissa, thank you for the kind review. So glad the trip went well across the board, and that the guide made it work for everyone. Hope to see you again! Arctic Adventures Team

Best money I’ve ever spent

Absolutely phenomenal. Best money I’ve ever spent. There are no words to describe how incredible the stops are. Breathtaking sights. Everything was well-timed, the bus was super clean as were all of the food/bathroom stops. Our tour guide, Joey was so knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond for our small group. I will be recommending this tour to everyone I know.

Operator response

Hi Tiffany, appreciate you sharing this! The 3-day route packs in a lot, the Golden Circle, an ice cave, and the glacier lagoon, so hearing the timing worked and the sights still floored you is great to read. Glad the guide went the extra mile for your group. Arctic Adventures Team

Excellent customer service!

We did all 3 of our Tours with Arctic Adventures on our trip to Iceland! We did the Grindavik lava field tour, Snorkeling at Silfra, and the 3 day Golden Circle, South Coast tour, It was a great experience!! I cant speak enough of how well Arctic Adventures did!! Their guides are top notch! My mom went with us on this trip, and she will be 80 this year. Most of these tours involve hiking a bit, and our guides ( Siggi and Alex ) both took extra time to make sure my mom was not left behind and rushed on the short but moderate hikes we had to do. They made sure she got as much enjoyment as everyone else! At the Katla Ice Cave, our glacier guide was Frikki , and he very much did the same with being patient with my mom, leading her at the front of the group, while on the glacier. I cannot thank these gentlemen enough for treating my mom as they did! This kind of customer service is well above and beyond in my opinion, and we are very grateful for making the experience that much more special!! I booked the tours myself, and found the Arctic Adventures web site Very easy to navigate and book thru! Hands down, I will book all my tours with Arctic Adventures on future trips!!

Operator response

Hi Chris, thanks for taking the time to write this up. Three tours in one trip is a real vote of confidence, and we're glad each one delivered. The part that means the most though is hearing the team made sure your mom got the full experience right alongside everyone else, never rushed, never left behind. That's exactly the standard we want our guides held to. We'd love to have you back. Arctic Adventures Team

Outstanding tour - small group felt like family!

We had Magga as our guide and she made the trip outstanding!!!! She got us to all the local sites in addition to the states tour, we got to see puffins and even stopped at local food places we inquired about. The tour was fabulous and the small group made the experience perfect!!!

Operator response
