Very rough, hard for people with a bad back. However our guide went out of her to make sure that we saw some horses and we even got to see some colts.
Our guide, Paul, was so knowledgeable and entertaining! He searched all over the beach and back roads for horses and he finally tracked them down seeking shade under houses lol! We saw about 9 all together and it was such an incredible experience.
Our family had an amazing time on the wild horse tour! It was truly one of the highlights of our Outer Banks vacation. We’ve been vacationing in the OBX for years, and we’re honestly not sure why it took us so long to book one of these tours. After this experience, I can confidently say it’ll be part of our vacation every year from now on! Our guide, Craig, was outstanding. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the horses. We were amazed that he knew the horses by name, could explain their family relationships, and even knew when this year’s foals had been born. It made the experience feel so much more personal and gave us a whole new appreciation for them. We were lucky enough to see several horses up close (while still respecting their space), and the scenery along the beaches and dunes was beautiful. Craig shared fascinating facts about the horses, the history of the area, and the unique environment, making the tour both entertaining and educational for everyone in our group. If you’re visiting the Outer Banks, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It’s such a unique experience and a wonderful way to see a side of that area that many cannot access on their own. Thank you, Craig, for helping make this one of our favorite OBX memories. We’ll absolutely be booking another tour the next time we’re here!
Fun! So much fun to cruise the coast and see native horses.
The number of horses seen depends on the weather-we saw just a few. The ride is very bumpy on the sand-similar to a small roller coaster.
We saw a family of 4 around a house and then another 6 by the ocean. Not sure if it was the time of day or heat but I was kind of hoping to see more. Still a great experience.
Such a unique experience. Must do if you’re in the area.
Worth every penny! Edna was an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable about the area. We seen several wild horses, but the ones we were able to see walking the beach at the end of our tour were the icing on the cake! We would definitely recommend this activity if you’re visiting the area!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This has become a yearly tradition for my nieces, nephews, and me, and once again, it did not disappoint! Our guide, Craig, was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the wild horses, the history of the area, and the local wildlife made the entire experience both fun and educational. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and his enthusiasm made the tour even more memorable. If you're looking for the best wild horse tour in the area, this is it. Professional, informative, and an unforgettable experience every single year. We can't wait to come back and make more memories!
Paul was very knowledgeable as a 20 year Tour Guide, and local resident. We enjoyed the beach view, and around the back side of the Dunes. We saw several horses on both sides. The best site was the horses alone the beach....there was a colt, about 5 Mares, and one Stallion. Paul did a great job explaining exactly what the horses were going to do. I thought that was amazing they did exactly what he said!
