After an 11 day trip to China with my recent HS grad son and his best friend, we found this activity to be a great first introduction to Beijing on a hot night with jetlag. After departing the airport from an international flight and checking into our hotel we had energy only for dinner, showers and a little bit more. We loved this tour because it was short, beautiful to see at sunset, involved little climbing and was overall a good very low key first activity. The view of the Forbidden City from this higher vantage point is stunning. Our tour guide, Albert, was low key, very interesting with his historical facts, spoke great English which helped us a lot, and just overall was so happy to be our first introduction to China for what I hope will be a lifelong destination for these good students.
Our group should be notified that the pagoda at Beihai Park was closed on Monday before booking this tour. The tour is great for viewing the forbidden city from the top view, admiring the gardens covered with various flowers, and the small lakes.
