This was the biggest rip off of a tour First of all it says “skip the line” Nonsense- you simply wait on another line Then you go into the church and a link appears on your phone for self guided tour that is available for free online. You are essentially paying for nothing Because of this- I will never use Viator again
Just so you know, there is no person. No real person as a guide and no skip the line. We followed the signs for online reservations and were not able to skip any lines. We had to wait forever to get our tickets checked. Then wait forever for security. Then we had no idea what to do so we went to the info desk. The info desk connected our phones to an audio guide. I do not have service in Italy so they connected me to the Vatican's WIFI. Which broke down after 15 minutes so the whole audio guide on the phone did not work for me. Not a fan! Oh yeah, let's not forget they called us a day prior and said we either have to change our reservation to a later time or are not able to use the elevator at the dome. We had to walk all the steps in order to keep our time slot. Yikes!
We were well helped to find the way. It is handy and really recommended to have skip the line tickets
It was a breeze going inside and the activity provider was good, they are organised as they message us before the day and gave clear instructions

Skipping the line was great and worked as planned but I really needed more info on what I was seeing. It was my choice to buy this tour, however. It was disappointing.
Admission to St. Peter's Basilica worked great without any wait time. It is an unforgettable experience to visit this magnificent structure. We got to the dome just as easily. Unforgettable impressions! Thank you very much!
Great to be able to skip the line for this price however, I thought this included the entrance to the dome. It did not. It was disappointing and deceptive with the title.
Skipping the line to any tourist location in Italy is highly recommended. You’re able to avoid all the lines and standing in the heat. Only thing I would recommend is ensuring all staff managing the “skip the line” “mobile ticket” process knows the process and is able to actually lead you where you need to go to skip the line successfully. There was some confusion, not only our group, but with another where they didn’t know how to even let us in.
We had difficulties being granted entrance as each station would not accept the QR code sent via WhatsApp. We had sent message to tour provider who promptly responded with same QR codes and stated that was all needed. We also called Viator customer service who immediately answered and responded to our needs. After numerous request to final entrance fate, the service attendant finally scanned the QR code and let us enter. We were delayed 30 minutes and luckily we had arrived early. After entrance fiasco we took the lift elevator and then climbed 331 winding narrow steps to inside if dome, the rooftop and top of dome view platform. A spectacular view and adventure. Descended 551 winding narrow steps to inside of the basilica. Definitely a “Bucket List “ adventure checked off ✅! Having previously visited 4 times I was surprised to see all pews and seats roped off. Virtually no where to sit and meditate. Overall a great experience!
