The audio guide was great but the staff was rude and unhelpful. I wanted to extend my half day pass to a full day. The guy I was taking to walked away as I was talking to him and went to speak to another person (from a different bus company). The experience was so bad I ended up leaving and booking with another bus company
We were stuck in traffic for over an hour with nothing but a short jazzy sound loop repeating over & over & over. Don’t waste your money or your time.
There is a bus every 15 minutes. On top open roof (closes if raining), inside air conditioned. Be aware some stops can be a bit of a walk from the venue. Worst example is The vatican, its 1Km from the stop by the river due to traffic restrictions. Its a lovely walk as long as you are ready for it. Other stops are right outside, eg the Coloseium

As you rightly point out, some of our stops may be a short walk from the main attractions. This is mainly due to Rome’s pedestrian areas, traffic restrictions and regulations that limit where tourist buses can circulate and stop. Unfortunately, these restrictions mean that it is not always possible to place a stop directly in front of every monument. The Vatican area is one of the clearest examples, while other stops, such as the Colosseum, are located much closer to the attraction. Excellent bus service. Great stops, clean buses and great staff. I’m so glad we chose to do this as we wouldn’t have seen the surroundings and known some of the history. As we had done most of the main sights, this was a nice alternative but also stopped at the main sights too. I’d definitely book again

Unfortunately it rained that day and we could not get off the bus for half of the tour. The first bus we took did not have a working headphone jack, the second bus could be heard :) The staff is very friendly!

The audio guides with the headphones did not work particularly well; I had to change seats several times.
Completely problem-free check-in, good explanations of the itinerary, and the most important sights are visited.
Extremely poor directions as to where exactly to catch the bus. Only general locations are given which were next to useless. We had to hunt around the Piazza Venezia for 40 minutes watching two buses go past and asking several people where to catch the bus before we found out. This is the same for all stops except for Termini station . A problem that could so easily be fixed on their website but wasn’t and caused considerable frustration. The only sites you actually see are the bus station, Saint Mary Major, and the Colosseum. All the other sites including the Vatican the Spanish steps and the Trevi fountain you don’t see at all just the streets surrounding it. The audio guide was okay but was spoilt by annoying music on a loop. It was okay for getting a sense of the city but extremely poorly managed and very lazily presented.

The stop locations are also shown in our brochure, which includes QR codes providing direct directions through Google Maps. We understand that finding a stop in an unfamiliar city can sometimes take a little time, but the locations and directions are available to help passengers reach each stop easily. As for the attractions, our route is designed to offer panoramic views of Rome’s main landmarks. However, due to pedestrian areas, traffic restrictions and regulations governing tourist buses, it is not always possible to stop directly in front of every monument. Some sights can therefore only be viewed from the surrounding streets rather than directly from the bus. We’re also sorry that the audio experience did not fully meet your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the background music. Great for the first day in Rome. Hop off hop on is very flexible and is a great way to see the city and all its history.
