Sam was the ideal walking tour guide for my family (two parents plus kids 19 and 12) this summer. Both of my kids were skeptical about the idea of a walking tour... it was hot out, and we'd already walked around Quebec quite a bit. Sam was a hit with all of us: extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and present-day Quebec (we followed some of his suggestions for things to do after the tour was over, and are so glad we did!); charming; funny. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

Old Quebec City was our second destination after Montreal as first time visitors to Quebec Province. My husband is the history enthusiast and found Samuel DuBois's walking tour of Old Quebec City online. I am at the opposite spectrum regarding the subject of history, but found Samuel's walking tour loaded with interesting Canadian facts and influential historical figures who contributed to the history of Quebec City and Canada. The walking tour is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in length and takes you past buildings and churches holding Canada's history behind their doors. Samuel makes the tour entertaining and walk was not strenuous for seniors like ourselves. This tour provides entertainment and knowledge without a fee. Gratuity is one's choice and without a doubt worth the time.
Sam was funny, gave us historical and cultural insights, and went at the perfect pace. This tour was a great start to our one day in Quebec City.

Sam was a great guide for our family's first full day in Quebec City. He was fun and light-hearted; integrating humor into the rich history of the city. His hand carried pictures were nicely implemented into his city stories. The two hours went by quickly and he left us with additional ideas for further exploration of Quebec City.
