Township-Rundgang

We had the best experience with Chippa exploring Langa. We spent the first half of the tour learning about the history of the township and then he took us round the community to see local businesses and housing. The whole community was so nice coming up constantly to say hi and chat. With Chippa being a local we felt completely safe the entire time and really could tell he was truely immersed and supported by the whole community. We could not recommend this tour more.

Very personal and insightful tour that takes you out of the normal Cape Town tourist bubble and gives food for thoughts. Chippa is very knowledgeable and carefully guides you through the topic. Highly recommended

Chippa was THE best tour guide we could ask for. It was our first day in Cape Town and was a fabulous introduction to the hope and resiliency of South Africa and her people. Langa’s residents are kind and welcoming and made us feel like family. Chippa addressed all of our questions, even the hard ones, with honesty and did not try and sugar coat the reality of life in a township. He also introduced us to entrepreneurs and business pioneers working to make Langa better for everyone. The cultural center artists and school children were a highlight, and I only wish I had some more time to purchase some local art! I hope to come back!

Namhla has such an entertaining and sincere way of letting tourist see the real South African life. Staying in Green- Sea point or Waterfront you’re in a bubble but you run into people whom are living in the townships everyday. This tour was such an inspiring message. Namhla shared the gritty but also the hopeful aspects of living in a township. She wove the history of SA and the apartheids regime into the affects on modern day life. Do yourself a favor and go on this township tour and step outside the bubble!
