Sie haben die Möglichkeit, die lebhaften Townships von Kapstadt zu erkunden, etwas über die Geschichte und Kultur der Gegend zu erfahren und die freundlichen Einheimischen kennenzulernen. Unsere geführte Wanderung führt uns durch das Township Langa, das älteste Township von Kapstadt, das für seine reiche Geschichte, lebhafte Atmosphäre und traditionelle afrikanische Küche bekannt ist.

Wir besuchen das Langa Dompas Museum im Herzen von Langa, das den Besuchern eine ergreifende Hommage an die Helden und Opfer der Apartheid bietet. Dieses historische Juwel befindet sich im Herzen des Townships und wurde anlässlich seines hundertjährigen Bestehens errichtet. Die einst berüchtigten Büros der Bantu Affairs Administration dienen heute als Beweis für die Widerstandskraft des menschlichen Geistes und als wichtige Erinnerung an die Vergangenheit. Außerdem besuchen wir die Langa Old Flats, die 1944 als Herbergen für Wanderarbeiter nach Geschlechtern gebaut wurden und heute von Familien bewohnt werden. Langa Hostels, die während der Apartheid für Männer gebaut wurden, beherbergen heute viele Familien, in einigen Fällen drei in einem Haus.
Unser nächster Halt ist das Guga S’Thebe Arts and Cultural Centre in Langa Township, das 1.Kunst- und Kulturtraining: Das Zentrum bietet Training in verschiedenen Kunstformen wie Metallverarbeitung, Töpferei, Tanz, Kunsthandwerk, traditionellem Tanz, Chortraining, Musik und Poesie. 2.Gemeindetheater: Das Zentrum verfügt über ein Gemeindetheater, in dem lokale Gruppen Aufführungen veranstalten können.Kunsthandwerksladen: Das Zentrum verfügt über einen Laden, in dem lokales Kunsthandwerk verkauft wird. Das Zentrum bietet Buchhaltungs- und Sekretariatsdienste für Kleinunternehmer und lokale Unternehmen. Das Zentrum bietet lokalen Unternehmern und kleinen Unternehmen Unterstützung und Ressourcen, um ihre Unternehmungen zu gründen und auszubauen. Das Zentrum zielt darauf ab, die Arbeitslosigkeit in der Gemeinde zu bekämpfen, indem es Schulungen und Unterstützung für lokale Unternehmer und kleine Unternehmen anbietet.

Amazing tour. Kazi was a wonderful tour guide with a lot of knowledge. The community was very welcoming, kind and talkative. Great experience.
Namhla has such an entertaining and sincere way of letting tourist see the real South African life. Staying in Green- Sea point or Waterfront you’re in a bubble but you run into people whom are living in the townships everyday. This tour was such an inspiring message. Namhla shared the gritty but also the hopeful aspects of living in a township. She wove the history of SA and the apartheids regime into the affects on modern day life. Do yourself a favor and go on this township tour and step outside the bubble!

Cape Town is a truly stunning city but to understand what moves the city, you have to experience a township tour with someone who is deeply rooted in the township community. Chippa was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, respectful of the community and with a desire to help others understand that a township is not what it appears to be from the outside. He shared the history of townships and brought us into the present with a glimpse into the future. It was safe, eye-opening, educational and truly gives you a newfound perspective. I would higly recommend this to anyone visiting Cape Town - whether you are travelling solo or in a group. A Langa township tour with Chippa will stay with you for a long time.
The trip was fabulous, informative, educational and the community were very generous in sharing their lives with us. It was a privilege to meet people from the community and to learn about their creativity and entrepreneurial ship in creating a better life for themselves , their families and their community.
